    my clones are 3 days of mom. thay r under 80watt floros now.i have two other 80watt floros should i use them to or will 240watts be to much?

    80wt is fine, I've done it under 60 and had good results. They don't need much light while they root, but once they have rooted, harden them off and get them under some decent light.

    When cloning, you can have too much light. Since the plant doesn't really have roots yet, it's water uptake iss very slow. If put a big light on them, they could aspire faster than they can take up water, making them wilt and ide quickly.

    That's why most people use flours; they are not as bright as HIDs and they are cooler, so there won't be as much evaporation as well.

    I'd be most worried about heat on clones .. They will root under any of the lights fluorescent, halides, hps ..Another thing with fluorescents is that if light is too far away the plants have real tendency to be lanky and weak I would recommend keeping the light close as can,,as long as it is not making it hot right next to plant..If the bulb is not hot you can put right just above the plants..
