To explain so you understand When you launch a browser window via shortcut ie; desktop shortcut to https://forum.growkind.com it wont let you go into immediate encryption. You have to either go to the main page or hit BROWSE ENCRYPTED thus defeating the purpose of browsing encrypted cause you already are registered and did a reverse dns lookup with your isp. so..

I follow yer Agrow.... ;) Why do you want a shortcut that is encrypted? What is the porpus.

SO you can launch a browser window directly in SSL. So your ISP nor a remote computer can read the packets sent in and out of your modem.

Your Windows clipboard can expose sensitive information from your PC.

The biggest threat is if you copy your internet banking security code or password to your clipboard, then go surfing. You may even copy your Credit Card number when buying online, so it is easier to fill in the details, you may then go to a site that harvests your clipboard information.

If you do the above, don't, as there is an exploit out that can gather that information from your PC. There are a number of malicious web-sites just waiting for you.

I have provided an example that you can see for yourself how this works, the example does NOT harvest the information, it just displays it as an example of what malicious web-sites can do.

Copy some text then click on the link below for an example :

    [url[www.ntfs.org/tmp/clip.html[/url]

Although it didn't work for me

I think that Webman should start a "Security" forum. Then I can post my security finds [IMG] hints tips and tricks. Anyone think its a good idea? I have so many goodies.

PS, The fix for problem with the clipboard exploit is:

Go to Internet Options > Security, click 'Internet' > Custom Level, and set "Allow Paste Operations via Script" to 'disabled'.
