Ya, that ain't shabby at all. Was that 11.18 on slicks or street tires? If street tires, what width tires do you run?
Cool, what width tires? I'm going to outfit mine with some 245/60's for the back and some 215/60's on the front.
No! CG is the devil! Marijuana is the devil! LOL, CG, ever seen the movie The Water Boy? I'd still like to know the width of the tires. I am wondering how well 245's will hook up.
Yeah I'm gonna pull out my GeForce4 TI4600 and throw in an ATI 9700. Then when the new Hammers come out (AMD) I'm going to grab up one of those and a new Asus mobo. I'm thinking something with a 400bus and run 1gig of DDR400. I'll probably grab a scusi controller and get 4 Cheetas. I'm thinking a nice Aluminum windowed case with sound activated blue cold cathode. I'll run it all on my new 48" widescreen HDTV and 800W stereo (DTS surround THX). That should let me frag the **** outta them Unreal assholes. I drive a Grand Am. It's slow and doesn't burn to much gas. (Edited by Ted at 8:44 am on Nov. 7, 2002)
Very cool, Ted. Go with an Abit motherboard though! Asus boards always seem to have some sort of annoying problem (and they admit to it!). Hehe... The Radeon 9700 Pro is a very nice card... I was just checking out the benchmarks recently and it blows away the Ti4600. Prepare for Doom 3! FYI there is a playable demo of Doom 3 out that got leaked!
Does Tyan make a board that supports 'em, and are they even available in a dual configuration? Things can change quickly with AMD. Remember when the first Athlon MP's were just re-labeled XP's? Now, you cannot run dual XP's, without modifying it.
Tyan makes the best dual MP boards out there right now. Right now I am running an Epox 333 with an 1800 512 of DDr266 ECC. GeForce4 TI 4600. I put in some round IDEs and my temps dropped 10 degrees. You should see winamps AVS on my 48" TV. Pull a bong and stare for hours...
My ride!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! in advance Mrs B. I have already purchased a large trout and hit myself with it!
If you want a good motherboard for overclocking, and stability that utilizes dual processors..The Abit bp6 is a good choice and feature filled..Change your bus speeds on the fly,No jumpers etc....I run dual Celeron 366a's on her..and got her overclocked to 605mhz a piece.. 3 sticks of 128 megs of ram..Smooth..and fast.Nothing like the cpu speeds of today..But moves right along Abit makes quality boards.. CG
Ted what effective resolution are you running the Winamp AVS at on your 48" TV? I've tried a 1.5Ghz P4 with a GForce 4 card and still can't get any of the good AVS to run smooth at anything higher than 640x480.
Well I have a widescreen so I run a funky res. I think its 1120X1920 or something like that. You need to download powerstrip to get over 640X480. I also run 1080i except with the DVD then I think it runs at 720p. The new DVHS stuff will run at 1080i and you can see the picture quality diference. Those tapes blow away DVD but the DVHS players are two expensive for people right now around $500 for an average one. I can't wait till all the channels are broadcasting in 16:9 instead of 4:3. Anyway as far as running the computer on the TV it never looks all that good because you can only get 60Hz refresh rate out of a TV unless it's a plasma. Download Powerstrip it will help you out.
