Just a little poll on why people atarted growing. Alot of people grow for profit, others because its just too expensive on the street, and some because of availability. Personally, I am tired of paying inflated prices for weed. An oz. costs $250 CDN (about $5 US hahahaha), for a $250 investment, I can grow a lot more than an oz!! Just curious.
Well I started growing for a couple reasons. One was for profit. I wanted to grow and sell weed. Another was to have my own supply. I don't mind paying for weed, it is the hassle of trying to find it and buy it that was pissing me off. So I also started growing because I wanted a steady supply. I also like growing because it is illegal and I disagree with marijuana laws, so it is like my little protest.
I started growing my own because im getting so old now that i was starting to think about sending my kids out to score for me. You dont get frowned upon as much when they see a man with 2 walking sticks,a zimmer frame, false leg glass eye and a runny nose scoring bud from an even older man. "Can i have a sixpence bag and shillings worth for the wife" Seriously tho i grow coz its hard to find these days,all my contacts have moved away or dont sell anymore.
LOL @ Window..you made my morning. I started growing mostly because the area I moved to has nothing but **** weed. I also like the idea of my money coming off the street, just because you buy from jonny pot dealer doesnt mean jonny pot dealers supplier or his supplier are people you want to support.
i grow because the weed around my area is garbage. everyone is getting about $80-$90 for an ounce, and when you take out all those seeds its about 3/4 O. a pinner of my **** fucks me up compared to a hefty joint of the garbage i used to buy. profit is the least of my worries, only to my closest friends will i sell, there's too much **** going down on the streets.
I grow to get baked , stoned, high or all of thee above I'll be honest, I wouldn't of even tryd if it wasn't for GK and it's forum. I have learned ALOT here. With a forum like this. It makes growing fun ......and the rewards are delicious and sweet.... But the MAIN reason I started was for the Ability to grow buds that are OUTRAGOUSLY Priced !!!!! 60.00 1/8, 110.00 1/4, 190.00 1/2 350.00 oz is just fucin crazy IMO !!!!!!!!! With Dertermination,and most all Patience you can have buds better than what's on the streets 10x fold .... ...stay cool & keep DNC
*ahem* 1. The amount of money I have spent in the last 10 years 2. Having to ride with the friend-of-a-friend-of-a-friend to find some green and ending up in the third-world part of town. 3. Not putting myself at risk by having to travel with weed on my person 4. How nice it is to open up my closet and smell the wonderful smell of free weed. Yeah... that about sums it up
I grow for one reason,..Seeing my Cola's glistening with THC after the flowering is initiated..Its a "high" just watching them Buds grow..so Peaceful.. listening to my 1000 watt ballast hum,with no one around..Ahhhhh.Its like "heaven" in my laundryroom..How sweet it is!!Nothing like it.. CG
Cuz it's cheaper, and much safer than buying from a dealer, both legally and also because you know what you're getting.
I agree with everyone!! Hell, my brother is out trying to score for me right now!! I just don't think I can wait much longer, and my baby has soooo far to go!!
I grow because i fancied having a go. I get these ideas and have to see them through. A few of my other, "**** it, lets see if i can do this" are; printing money with paint shop pro (we passed the notes), designing a liquid fuelled 500ftlb rocket (its still on paper, i don't have enough cash to build it, as it will need to be built from graphite because of the temperature it burns at-5730 degree's), breeding seeds, building a 6ft marijuana leaf shaped kite, making home made bombs and **** loads more. MJ growing just comes under the same heading. I get to a point with my projects then decide to move on to something else. So now the grow is more or less shut down, its time for something else. Yeah and all the rest; Im sure you have read the house of pain postings from time to time. That attitude to the grow is why i experiment first and any smokable bud is a bonus. The grow was a test bed for my own knowledge. I feel i have not all, but enough knowledge so its time to move on; From growing that is. I'll still come in here.
HMMMM the reason i started growing.For one i got tired of trying to score from the friend of a friend who's girlfriend knows this guy who's the cousin of.....Second because i don't support terrorism HEHE.And third because of my medical condition and MJ has about 1% of the side effects of yhr man made poison my doctor wants me to take.
Yeah, it's definitely a special feeling to smoke what you planted and nurtured yourself, and to share it with friends. I gave my biggest G13 bud to my friend and union prez who helped me hang onto my job, and he loved it. He's still smiling about it! (Edited by Mrs B at 8:09 pm on Oct. 29, 2002)
I grow because of having a condition called complex partial epilepsy that affects my sleep patterns dramatically(and my wifes as well,she helps me through the bad nights)... As a young man I had a severe problem with backing down from any altercation despite being outnumbered and I suffer due to concussions incured from fights(having been punched and kicked in the head one too many times by groups of people) also a car accident where the driver hit a tree at nearly 60 mph and as the passenger I wasnt wearing a seatbelt so my head took the impact of the crash...Luckily its very hard ...The paramedics seemed to think it was a miracle I was coherent when they arrived my mother thought it was normal for how stubborn her son was... Marijuana seems like the logical choice considering I dont want to become hooked on sleeping pills,xanax,or kolonopin, all being drugs these wild doctors have been trying to push on me without success So far growing pot has been very therapeutic as well as challenging, a positive habit I am looking forward to adopting for years to come ...
