Qwak, just curious why are you only running 580 ppm's of CO2 thats not very much more than what we naturally have available to us? I maintain 1500 ppms in my grow. Plants can use up to 2000 then its a waste after that.
C02 the CO2 is MAINTAINED at 580. CO2 is constantly being added. I am not sure if they will consume more because the concentration is higher. the consumption is the same i think. maybe i can up it? If i increase the concentration, will they consume more?
Qwak- If your temps are 80-85 degrees, your plants will perform much better with 1500-2000 PPM. Ambient air contains approx 350 PPM CO2, so you're not running much higher than that. Crank it up dude.
hey QWAK not everyone can afford to spend $4,000 on co2 and air conditioning systems, seems kinda pointless unless you have a huge grow room with 50-200 plants! maybe read what the guy is asking before putting your 2 cents in. he's growing in a small attic and i doubt he wants to spend that kind of money!
pay now, pay later, who can afford to have their own grow? Dude, I spent over a grand on experiments my first year, and i have dropped at least twice that on carbon scrubbers, ozone generators, odor neutralizers and other shit that don't work. All told, i was spending god knows how much to put CO2 into the atmosphere outside my house (along with a strange skunky smell) when i was using ventalation ducts and squirrel fans to control my temps. Bottom line, I have a totally sealed environment that i can control like a government lab, with no risk of letting any stink out. BTW, i use the condensation drain line from the AC to put the evaporated water right back into my res, saving me from having to top off my res with water every three days. It is a totally self contained situation with almost no maintenance. I just raised my CO2 PPM to 1480 and i know i don't have to worry about any variables. It will stay at 1480 untill i change it again. Also, i raised my temps to 86 degrees by pressing a button! I got maybe 2200 bucks in the whole thing without the lights and i don't miss the money at all. DIG IT??
I didn't really know this post was still going on...anyway I have an inline fan and a carbon filter (cost me about £60 altogether) and has hugely reduced the smell. Only time I can smell plant now is when the fan is turned off during the dark period...going to try and get some one-way ducting so that smell doesn't escape
Harsh when your lights are off keep your fan and filter going, the only time that should be off is when you are enriching with CO2.. Qwak post some pics of this goverment lab you say.. and yes you will not miss the money once you are rewarded for what you spent.
ok, so it's not as clean as a government lab.... but the maid has been on vacationTake a look, second generation Mazar from femmed seed mommies..... /monthly_2006_03/mazar.jpg.aed5c32e0c4d07eabb1751e9534f3f02.jpg
