i just got a buncha of seeds and i want to store them for next years grow. can someone tell me how i should store them? the seeds are just in a baggy right now
just put a tissue in the bag to absorb any moisture, seal in up and put it somewhere dark. They should be good for years
You can store seeds by placing them in envelopes inside large glass jars (mason jars are the best as they are air tight) and I like to throw in a bag of silica to absorb moisture. LOL that is why I save those lil packets that come in a purse when you buy one... If you store the jars in a cool, dark place the seeds should last around a year or 2 depending on what strain and how old they were when you got them. Hope this helps Peace~Jersey
Wrap in wax paper, stick in the fridge. The wax paper will keep the moisture out, the fridge is a nice, cool, dark place to store them in.
I have had seeds that have moved around with me for 6 years. They wehere in a ziplocks for a year or two, then in a mason jar. still sprout up when I need them
storing seeds Everyone here is correct......airtight jar/absorb moisture/dark storage. To add to this, I would reccommend that you put them in your freezer for the next 7 or 8 months. Then about a month or two before your next attempt at growing, pull them out of the freezer and put them in your fridge. Then with a week or two before you start your grow, pull them out of the fridge and put them somewhere dark and warm. All of this madness seems crazy but what your doing is simulating a Winter and Spring-like effect on those seeds. So when it begins to warm up, somewhere deep within that genetic code, those seeds will be just primed to bust out. Good luck.
