I apologize if this seems like a very elementary question, but I'm considering buying a little grow tent for indoors. I live in a very hot part of the world and almost always turn on my air-conditioner when I'm home. I'm wondering if the lights, etc. will create a lot more heat in my apartment. Will I have to always have my air-conditioner on if the room would be around 85 degrees even without having the grow lights on?

Well you never want you temps to go above 90 in ur grow room, so I would think that you will need to cool the air in there somehow, what kind of light you getting?

the light most people start with is 400w hps/mh..

its small, and good for enough plants to keep you happy.

it doesnt make the room too hot, but it is an HID and you'll need some good ventilation in there..

Take it from exp. I keep my temps at 20 - 25 c or 70 - 75 F never any hoter but maybe colder. You will be shocked of the progress your plaints will have at those temps.

I start mine out with (2) 4 ft flor. After only reaching 7 inchs or so from seed. I then move them to the bigger lights. Seedlings dont even need much light at all. But keeping the light on 24 hours a day for 2 - 4 weeks from germ. You should have a very nice crop going. Something else i like are Jiffy 7 planters. For my seeds or clones. Never damage the roots why transplanting them later.
