I've got 1,632 watts of light and it adds around $45 to my bill every month. Two 600 watt digital ballasts to flower and a 432 watt T5 fluorescent for veg.
... my bill never get's over 200$ and never below 100$ most times it's somewhere in between.. a digital thermostat would eliminate most of the excess though....invest in one.. cause in my next home I will def have one! with a password!
anywhere from $150-$200. a bit more if the weather is extreme either way. That is one thing i am looking forward to once I stop growing. a lower electric bill.......when i first started growing, the room didn't have THAT much effect on the bill. however, as the operation grew, so did the light bill......i try to combat it by conserving energy in other ways, but the wifey just cannot turn off a light LOL! I cannot mention it to her any more anymore though.......i kept nagging her about turning lights and appliance off and one day she said, "do you still have those big ass lights and all of those fans running in the garage?" I said, "yes". and thta was the end of thta conversation. LOL!! :icon_confused: when i stop growing I am gonna nag her til she HAS to turn off the damn lights.
what is the best lamp to get for vegging about 20 plants and keeping the bill at a minimum??? HPS will be used for flowering.
my bill went up 30 bones. but bad/good thing is same week i plugged in lights i got cetral ac put in that brought it up another 100 ; /
I don't even look at my bill, automatic billpay. Costing me more than I want to know. I'd imagine $250-275/month with hottub A/C 2 computers on all the time and around 1000w plus 300w for veg.
i think a couple t-5 light bars would be perfect, unless anyone thinks a small hid would cost lest to run/cool. i use t-5 light bars daisychained together in my veg. closet, an my girls love it. i also have no ventilation into my closet an the door stays closed for up to a week at a time with temps. outside going up to 120 degrees.
