I agree....there's no need to see who's balls are bigger. That's just childish.

Debate the issue if you feel certain info is questionable....PROVE your point and help shed light on someone who may not have all their facts straight, but leave the flaming out. There's no need for it here.

I always use 24/0 when I veg and so far out of 25 seeds I've planted I have yet to get a single male. Only 3 of the seeds were feminized.

I know the ratio should be about 50/50, so I am dreading the day when statistics catch up with me.

Don't worry vidman, el camp is a cool cat. I don't know where the "drama" came from. I post a ton, sometimes some really silly things if I do say so myself. You were just posing a question relating to some info you read, nothin wrong with that.

We don't have to post things only relating to our own experiences. Taking advice from others and discussing it is a big part of our learning.

We are all equal. Post count means nothing, growing experience means nothing to anyone but yourself. It's about being cordial, learning, teaching, and chillin.

He who asks a question is a fool for a minute; he who does not remains a fool forever.

    jimmy the lizard Genius beginner!

ive got al females so far. i bought white russian from sensi seeds and got 8 out of eight. i didnt want to say anything cause it sounds like bullshit, but me an a couple friensd have gotten all females everytime weve germinated any seed.

maybe just quality seeds, but i gotta think environment has a lot to do with it.

Jimmy, I believe environment has alot to do with it too, hence my post.

Appearantly Dutch Passion, put some money into a study and these were there findings. A well respected seed company I might add.

I actually spoke with them, and from what I understand, the difference in light, is not a debate over 24/0 or 18/6 but rather they are recommending something like 17/7 for lighting. Of course used with the rest of there findings too.

    Peace

ok, my point (not saying that it's valid....just that it's my point)

If I say something it's because I KNOW.

It stroked my balls the wrong way that someone is going to call my observation into question WITHOUT the benefit of personal experience to back it up.

now, if videoman had commented about HIS 90% female ratios or HIS studies...but it wasn't that way. it was his friend who grows and some seedbanks propaganda (which BTW is not ALWAYS correct...just like any other advertiser claims)

when the question about lighting came up, I immediately did a search on the topic because it does not confirm my own experience....what pops up???? THE EXACT SAME post from videoman on another site. I mean word for word exact same post.

Is that the entrance to gain credibility??? take words that worked for you somewhere else that are not even your own?

It's like borrowing movie lines to say to your lover...and then the other and other

I also looked at his grow fotos....NICE PLANTS...that I'm not denying. I just question such tactics.

may turn out the guy is a fantastic grower....may turn out he's the best thing ever happened to GK.....I'm just stating the facts.

    no harm intended, nothing personal.

maybe I'm wrong about the dude...not like it matters one way or the other

BTW, a 14/10 cycle will decrease your vegetative growth by as much as 30% and may induce flowering in some Indicas.

I cannot comment on the male/female ratio with this cycle since I only used it once but do not recall any difference.

at any rate, I could not recommend this cycle to anyone as I see no benefit from it and it will only serve to decrease yields

I see what you are saying and I know we all try to word things better.

I think I speak well to say the Mods and Webby would like to move things towards a better day.

I mean we have had some problem members that even given many chances and input still take the "long and hard road to social skills."

You El C just reminded all of us of that sort of painful experience with the flame format.

I have to say for the most part of my reading you under this nuckname that you have been more helpful than anything..

All things considered I have enjoyed this thread and will see if it grows more.

yeah, man, my problem solving skills are kind of limited to a baseball bat and a ski mask.

I really did not mean to go on the attack like that, i was more questioning the way someone arrived at their conclusion.

I certainly wouldn't want anyone to feel unwelcome on the site because of me. I just think we ALL owe it to GK to put forth FACTS and advance by way of documented experimentation.

I think finally I am not alone in wanting to hear these facts and see results of experimentation rather than hearing someone else's opinion repeated through a 3rd party.

    Hey Videoman, welcome to Growkind.

Don't let El C. get to you. He might seem a little harsh, but that's just the way he talks. He seems to know what he's talking about though.

I've already read some of your posts, and they seem like good information, regardless of whether they are from your personal experience or not. GK is still a relatively small site compared to the bigboys, so we need all the info we can get.

    Thanks for your contributions

I don't see how this light cycle would lower yeilds.....slow veg time down yes, but lower yeilds? I have to disagree with that statement El Camp. It would require a grower to veg for a longer time, but yeilds are not going to change regardless. That's from my own experiences too BTW. ;)

  19. El Campesino

    El Campesino The Farmer

Well, I was referring to lowering yields if you are vegging for a predertimed time. 18/6 for 30 days IS going to produce a larger stronger plant than vegging 14/10 for 30 days.

you may see very similar growth in these 2 scenarios, but I have seen that the extended lighting produces a superior plant taking into consideration total nodes, stem thickness, internodal spacing which will efectively increase yield.

so, my comment as to lower yield would be based on the assumption that one has a timeframe tagged to their grow schedule.

I am personally going to stick to my 24/0 till some of yall have finished your observational scientific grows....I'll be the control. :smoke2:
