I have a pool and spa so i'm no dumb ass about ph and chems and genral, but I can't keep my hydro to stay stable around 5.8 but my water likes to alway go back to 7ish. WTF, why can't I do this I'm running fox farm products "big grow" and some amound of "bloom something" as directed in the instruction chart.

What are you using to bring the PH down? If you are using vinegar, that could be your problem. Is there a layer of slime in your res?

Try using a little bit of the PH- for your pool. That is what I use and it works great. I've been using the "Dry Acid." I found that 1/8 tsp of the "Dry Acid" per 2 gallons is about right.

I don't use FoxFarms, so you may have to adjust your dosage.

Be sure to clean out your reservoir and mix up a fresh batch of nutes first.

    Hope that helps.

I have had the same problem, and to be honest, I never found a remedy.

in my limited experience, when your ph goes up, you are over nuting/over feeding. your girls only take in so much of what you give them and after that your ph goes up. start off light, around 500 ppm in veg, and bring em up 100 ppm per week until you finish, unless you see nute burn, then adjust accordingly.

this is a tried and tested formula, and 800 ppm for rooted clones going into veg. will bring down your yield.

sometimes less is more, and i have seen growers go up to 2500 ppm in their 4th week of bloom only to get a huge yield of 12 lbs. in their total grow, but only giving their veg a 500 ppm start, and their clones a 300 ppm feeding!!!

    i hope this helps.

Now I am confussed, Here is a post where my PH was falling.

I was told to much nutes/ppm levels would cause the PH to FALL

It did seem to help when I lowered the nutes my PH would not fall as bad but I was so close to being finished anyway.

im growin in soil. forgot to mention that!!! when im talkin about ph rising, or falling it is the ph of my soil. i dont know if it should be backwards with soil vs. hydro though.

what i can say is that the water i use is around 6.3-6.5 before adding nutes. thats exactly where i need it to be for soil, but when i add nutes, the ph goes up causing me to have to add ph down, to lower it.

im not too sure about how to stabilize a ph fluctuation in a res.

i used almost all advanced nutrients products. i use a chemical/organic hybrid. pretty much any bottle of anything that gets good user feedback goes into my grow. i just about found my secret combination. i expect to get well over two lbs. this time around on my second grow.

Troy, i am having similar issues with my ebb/flo setup. I have been running 5.2 ph throughout my grow with great success. lately, though, i am 5 weeks into flower and my ph goes up to over 6.0 every day, so i add gen hydro ph down to get back to 5.2.

my res is not real big though (12 gallons for 4 mommas). my nutes are currently at ~1050 ppm. i tried to raise nutes a bit thinking they were hungry, but then i started experiencing yellow tips. so i backed off again.

i have come to the conclusion that my res is just too small for what i have.

any thoughts or advice from you experts out there would be great!

I"ve got 8 plants in 5 gallons could this be the problem? I'm wanting to make a new hydro setup with 4 to 6 inch PVC pipe a NFS i think what do you guys think. I"m going to change water and ph balance it then add nuts then balance again this is like all day project hope it worth it.

    Thanks to you all

Just adjust the PH after you add nutes, no need to do it twice.

5 gallons for 8 plants is probably your problem, you will have to change the rez. much more often.
