For some elementary school students, the familiar ice cream truck jingle apparently meant an easy way to buy drugs. Police are stunned that children in the third grade were buying pot from an ice cream truck driver, whom they arrested Thursday afternoon. The driver, police said, was selling $5 and $10 bags of marijuana to students coming out of O’Grady Elementary School at the intersection of Farm-to-Market Road 495 and Holland Avenue. Customers included third-, fourth- and fifth-graders. “I can’t visualize any of these kids that age smoking marijuana,” Mission police Chief Leo Longoria said. “It’s a scary thought, but that’s the info we received.” The driver, a Mexican national, was arrested after police received tips from children about the drug sales. “What an idiot,” Longoria said of the driver. “But the important thing about this is kids reported it.” The driver is expected to be arraigned today on drug possession charges. Police are still weighing the possibility of bringing drug distribution charges against the man because they did not catch him selling to anyone. Police arrested the driver about 4:15 p.m. Thursday several blocks away from the elementary school. Fuckin morons like this sure make it hard for the rest of us. If you don't protect children and keep violence out of marijuana, you're just another cheap drug addict and have no right to ask society to give you any legal way to use the plant.

Ice cream men sellin pot aint nothin new. When I was young I had a columbian guy who sold not only 5's and 10's but quads and half o's He'd Scale that shit out and everything. They all get it from the cheech and chong movie.

cheech and chong got it from real life. this has been goin on in L.A. for decades now. i used to live between compton, and east L.A. when i was nine, and i used to hear ice cream trucks driving around at 11 o clock at night in the dead ass middle of winter. not just one of em, but several every night. buyers get familiar with the tune their ,"ice cream man," is playing and like Pav Lov's dog, (or however you spell his name,) they come out salivating for a sack. hell, even years before the movie friday, my friend kareem bought an ice cream truck and tricked it out with a gold flake paint job, and wire spoke daytons to ,"sling" sodas and water at concerts in so. cal. it was a pretty familiar thing for concert goers to be buying somethin other than ice cream from a truck like this.
