[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Cannabinoids Enhance Analgesic Activity Of Opiates In Inflammatory Pain, Study Says[/FONT] Richmond, VA: THC, when administered in combination with morphine, acts synergistically to reduce symptoms of chronic pain, according to preclinical data to be published in the European Journal of Pharmacology. Investigators at Virginia Commonwealth University’s Department of Pharmacology assessed the antinociceptive interaction between cannabinoids and morphine in an animal model of arthritis. The administration of THC enhanced morphine’s anti-inflammatory activity on chronic pain, researchers concluded. Preclinical data published last year in the journal Anesthesia & Analgesia reported that the co-administration of cannabinoids and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSIADS) also act synergistically to alleviate pain and reduce inflammation. Clinical trial data published in the February 2007 edition of the journal Neurology reported that inhaled cannabis significantly reduces HIV-associated neuropathy, a painful nerve condition that often goes untreated with standard pain medications.
Ahh but the point is that they get to use less morphine so that the benefit of opiates lasts longer. See in chronic pain People get really strung out and addicted so if lower doses can work with a joint as you say it means better pain management. It means that folks can take less strong narcotics and have better results. Each small piece of the puzzle destroys the Federal house of cards.
All we need now is for them to get their heads out of their asses and admit the truth. smokin again after 15 years or so has helped me to cut back on my pain meds! im still just tastin it a little/gettin my feet wet, but it might be part of my daily schedule from now on. only problem is i have to take drug tests often for employment. last one i took i passed though. i detoxified my system so well my prescription meds didnt even show up and i had to take the test twice only to come up negative for everything! i was starting to build up a pretty gnarly tolerance for my meds though.
hahahaha i F***'n love smokin weed with opiates! :love4: some times i can do a WHOLE bunch of shit that normaly would put me out and after the first few mins i cant feel it anymore. ha but it i take the tiniest toke of anything i get all tore up. there are definitely some synergistic qualities with marijuana
