I am starting my first grow in a room in my basement and I want to do hydro. I am not mechanically inclined so I was looking at already put together systems. I love to grow, but can't put things together. I saw Sunlight Sheds on the internet and liked their Cool Cab and Caddy. Does anyone know if they are worth the money? Thanks so much!!
just need a lil help...which is why we're here its always worth it to build ur own so long as ur willing to pay to do it right...otherwise ur better off sticking with the great outdoors in my humble opinion Happy Growin'
i got a friend who wanted something easy to get started growing with. he bought a grow tent, a small fan an scrubber, a small ebb and flow setup, an small light with ballast. he started with one plant an got nearly a pound on his first official grow. only problem is since then he hasnt been able to get more than half an ounce per plant since he cant troubleshoot any of his system when things go wrong. without the research/experience he doesnt have the knowledge to figure anything out with his grow. basically, some things are worth paying for, an some things are worth building for experience on how the system works. if you go hydro, make sure to buy a quality ph tester. both this guy, an another friend of mine who spent $6000.00 on equip couldnt grow shit in hydro cause they didnt know how important ph is till they switched to a ph balanced soil. check out cannagirls threads. she started in a cheap homemade hydro setup an has lots of info on the homemade hydro dept. her setups look really easy to build as well.
Hey thanks for the kind words man! Yeah all you need for a good DWC is rubbermaids or buckets and something to provide oxygen. I use pond pumps or fish filters. Most people use bubblers, I prefer the pumps, but bubblers work too. I don't even use medium. As long as there is something holding up the plant, the roots can just sit right in the water. Other than that you are looking at all the same stuff you would need for any grow, and Hydro nutes, I use General Hydroponics 3 part and Cal-Mag.
