Hey guys im new here and have a couple questions. One inparticular i started growing about two months ago with no knowledge of raising a plant i started with an incandescent bulb drop light 12/12 and my plants took to it immediatly but then once they reached about 4 inches they stopped growing and only had two leaves on them. I transplanted them into a bigger grow spot and added a black light 24/0. And immediatly one started sprouting more and more leaves i now have moved my lighting to 24/0 on both lights i plan to get me some florescent bulbs to fix my lighting. i cant offord the hps or mh lights right now and want to make sure i can do this before i commit myself to such an expensive investment. My questions are Do i need to start over or should they be ok? And what other lighting will work that isnt so expensive this isnt a commercial crop. just something for me to smoke and share with company. I am new at this and been reading and researching for a while but there is so many different oppinions on the net and a very very limited supply of books. Could u please help a noob out my next setup if i can get good crop in soil is a one or two bucket hydroponics system of white widow. (HOPEFULLY) Quote:This is what an Ol' G told me Fuck a benz and Fuck a rolli life is what u make it homie!:5headache:
I would prolly start over. You don't have the correct lighting. You can go two routes. CFL's at Wal-mart or go to E-conolight.com and get a cheap HPS or MH for under 50 bucks. I would also get to reading a grow guide. Do your research before planting anymore seeds IMHO
hello and welcome Hey, I am new to this site too, though not to the art of growing. !!! A 150watt hps(120.00$-150.00$) in the long run is going to be cheaper than continuing to add ineffective incadescant lights or flourescents. though I understand a guerilla grower uses what he has.First, keep these weak lights as close to the plants as possible without burning the tops. Second, get rid of the black light bulb and replace it with a grow tube or aquarium tube(wal-mart; 5-10$) as either of these willl have the more needed blue and red light spectrums. If you do not keep the light as close as possible, all the lumens will be lost in the distance making the light useless to the plants, and the plants will desperately stretch to reach the needed lumens that, in your project, your lights will scarcely be offering in the first place. I CANNOT EXPRESS HOW HUGE OF A DIFFERENCE A HIGH INTENSITY DISCHARGE LIGHT WILL MAKE!!!! Get a jar and put 30 five dollar bills in it and BOOM you got a real light.Do not abort your project. Use this grow to learn hands on about light intensity and distance and watering, or more importantly in soil rich in peat,OVER-WATERING, and fertilization, temperature control, venting and air circulation. Use this project to make all these VARIABLES into CONSTANTS you have total control of. Spring for a used grow guide on amazon 5-20$ Read study and read more. Try try try!! this first grow will help you learn to respond to your plant and develop a bond with the plant and growing. Holla if ya have any more ?'s Good luck! Greybush79 :qbluewacko:
why toss them? I agree. Instead of tossing what could end up being nice plants, why not start new ones with the new lights, and compare....the worst that can happen is they'll end up male. Don't trash them yet....:icon_flower:
Keep going you've already put two months into them. Just seriously upgrade your lights! incandescent lights are so bad! anything is better.
