hey fellas im gonna be away from my plants for 13 days. i got a coupla hashberrys under a 400w hps in 2-3 gallon pots. im gonna flood them the day i leave. will my plants make it??

the temps in my growroom will be fairly cool/cold. lights come on at night when its cold that way my soil wont dry out as fast. temps shouldnt go above 75f. and ill add some superthrive to my h2o

is it a smart idea to keep em under the 400w or would it be smarter to put em under some CFLs. the plants are at week 4 of flowering.

    thanks

13 days you are in big trouble. I would rig up a drip system of some kind. They will be dead when you get back if you don't.

I agree they are toast at 13 days. If you turn the lights out the for the full 24 hours a day the plants will not need to feed (suck up the water) since no photosysenthis takes place. That might work if you cn't figure out a drip system. Good luck you will need it for 13 days

    Yeah....dead for sure...

No way will they live that long without water...invest in an automatic water timer.

thanks everybody. no time for drip system, im leaving in a day or two. ok so my grow room temps are at mid 80s. what im gonna do is put each pot inside a 5 gallon bucket half full of water. and im also gonna lower the lights to 8 hours. and i added vermiculite on top of the soil to retain water. and i also added foil to the top of the pots so i wont loose alot of water due to evaporation. think my plants are still toast?

I think this is your best bet and will be real quick and easy to set up. Just use your 5 gallon buckets as a mini res for each plant. Good luck. Let us know how it turns out.

its a very easy system to make..just place you plants on top of the make shift resivor then place twine/yarn into the bottem of the water then thew the plants to the top of the soil...keeps em watered but you wont have good growth..but like i said better then dead plants

Give it a test run. Ya may have to use 2 jugs per plant.

I've done wicks before and sometimes the plant will use up water fast and the wick cannot keep up. So, you just need to make sure the wick is big enough or if they are small, you should have a few of them. It's better to have too much wick than not enough.
