I just got some seeds and this is my first time growing. If anyone can just give me some tips and information beginners should know that would be great!

My first tip is to go read the wealth of info in the FAQ's. Second tip is to read them again after that. ;)

Seriously.....if you are commited to growing great herb then the best way to do so is to build your knowledge base. Those that educate themselves prior to planting the seed are far more likely to be successful in this venture. I've seen far too many newbies jump in with both feet and fail time after time after time. We have a few on the boards right now who are classic examples. :5headache: Trust me.....I've seen just as many people do great on their first try and ALL of them read the FAQ's first. :sign13:

There is tons of info here and on the net. Read read read, then read some more. Also check out as many threads as you can so you can see problems others have and what to do about them.

Listen to Herbs really.. listen to him! Just read the faqs all of them and whatever you do don't start going until you have read it. Almost anyone on here who's stuff died it's because they didn't read anything and don't know shit. I cannot begin to say how much I learned and how useful the stuff is from the Faq page.

ALL HAIL THE FAQ PAGE!!! :notworthy:

These guys gave you the best advise you can get. EVERY problem that will occur has been covered at some point in a thread some where. The best thing is to read read read. Remember the better education you have the better questions you ask. Plus people get annoyed answering the same questions over and over. You can search old threads with keywords. Good luck and happy growing!!

I have been reading the cannabis growing bible and a bunch of other things on the web. I have learned A LOT of stuff. I have been reading up on a lot of different soil to use. For the first timer what type of soil would be the easiest to grow in?

Welcome! I hail from the land of enchantment, is that what your nm stands for? Anyway, the best advice has already been laid out for you, the FAQ's. Also I swear by the horticultural medicinal marijuana bible by Jorge Cervantes.

New for 25$ at amazon 15-20$ used.

    Good luck

    good beginner soils....

Basic potting soil from Wal-mart will work just fine. Mix it 1/2 and 1/2 with perlite and you're good to go...but try NOT to use miracle gro or others with time release ferts, as they will most likely cause you nutrient problems. If you have a nice nursery in the area, they probably have some higher quality mixes....pretty much anywhere that sells houseplants would have good choices, too. Good luck! :)
