I plan on starting up a batch of hindu kush for my next project. I've heard its best left in a single stem format for ideal bud production. If anyone could key me into some things I should be wary about or tricks of the trade with this strain it would be GREATLY appreciated. theres no teacher quite like experience. the goodkindkid
This is a Kush in left foreground It's either Master or Hindu Kush from Bagseed! I collected about a handfull in the past few years and decided to grow it out! :icon_confused: Whatever you do; don't top/prune your Kush. I recommend that you strip at least the 6 lowest sideshoots; or even all of the sideshoots for that matter! This is probably a 100% indica strain by look and smell of it. It's not my the smelliest(like nycd) or the most cerebral(rhino power); but is does have the best bag appeal(look & smell is important obviously). It is a narcotic type stone...yet the high won't dissapoint; although not as soaring as a sative dom/indica pheno hybrid. Dries very easily from my neck of the woods; in 7 days hung upside down in a large cardboard box. On my next grow...i only want the "baseball sized" colas; who needs all the popcorn. I think i'll have a more efficient grow = more yield when i try stripping almost all the the bottom side shoots. Leave only the ones that you know will reach the canopy i guess. I'm not an expert. But I hope this helps.
where the fuck were you when I was getting flamed to death for recommending this /monthly_2007_11/57a6c9879c5d0_december2006015.jpg.d686822dd5629724f645f6b3c27cb08b.jpg /monthly_2007_03/57a6c987a2753_december2006030.jpg.308b5055af65e645a6324321d8b4a953.jpg /monthly_2006_11/57a6c987a72f5_december2006048.jpg.f5000a759a7d1db18c6b85d3878020e9.jpg /monthly_2006_11/57a6c987ac782_december2006046.jpg.50dee0ee0d3297248657fc4807aa0dec.jpg /monthly_2006_11/57a6c987b11a2_3NOV2006024.jpg.aa595cca5f2cfc67e454e2d527f38112.jpg
Holy Crapola El Campesino!!!! :love4: Damn bros. !!!! What the Hell are you feeding 'em Beasts!??! :evil4: That's EXACTLY HOW I WANT MY BUDS TO LOOK LIKE!!!!:evil4: Yeah El Campesino...I pruned one Kush and just cut only a few lower sideshoots on another(shown above)and realized a big diffrence! I only wished that i cut more of those bottom sideshoots! Sideshoots really is jus' a waste of space/efficiency...and popcorn really doesn't impress da ladeez!:evil4: :sign13: Thanx for the pics El Campesino...now i finally know what possibilities can sprout from Growkind! :sign13:
I'm doing the same thing you just suggested to the thread starter....getting rid of all secondary growth to the 5th or 6th full node and letting them divert all the attention to cola production. works really well on heavy Indicas which have the natural tendency to form the cola, I just get rid of the suckers and let them do their thing
i started "lollypopping" all my plants on my second grow. i trim all but three nodes. leaving three nodes is extreme, but i got the idea from a grower who gets 3 lbs. per light. i lollypop three days before 12/12 flip to allow time for stress rebound before i want my plants to focus on producing buds. it seems like they all put on about three nodes during the two week stretch phase anyways causing shading of the bottom branches that are left attached. this caused me to start pinching the top two to three branches, "supercropping," so that the bottom branches will stretch out toward the canopy. i jus started pinching this go around, and do all of my pinching within the first two weeks. this will be my third harvest, and i still dont have all my ducks in a row, but i am hoping for more grams per watt than my last two grows, and can guarantee faaaaarrr less trimming than ever before. ime/imo, lollypopping is a must!
check out this must see video on lollypopping, and tomato cages. matter of fact, watch all of these vids. if you dont have an account on you tube, sign up. these vids are a must see for anyone who wants 2lbs. plus per light. just dont buy into their sales pitch for A.N. products.
we all love the urban grower round my place we even started using the phrase "don't remo it up" it came from how he just manhandles people beautiful buds
420 thats funny shit....I HATE the way the urban grower dude just grabs those plants liek that. I would slap his hands like a 5 year old. goodkindkid I just to do all my plants this way. I stripped off everything below the 4th or 5the set of leaves for years. I loved the way the garden looked, but when I started to pinch teh tops and branch them out I got at least 25% more weight. but to each his own
thats some funny shit lol that guy made me wonder whether or not groping buds like he does is normal. ive never seen anyone else do it, but he makes it seem like smooshing em up is cool to do or something.
Just got back with my pits. Picked up the Hindu Kush and Bubblicious from Nirvana. Great tips guys, im going to strip the side shoots down for a shot at a monster cola. I'll follow up with how its going once i cycle them into my room.
