Here's the deal. Through all he recent drama here at home I was able to save my mother plant and she is back under 24 hr CFL right now. In exactly 73 days from now I have to go on a trip. Do you think it's possible to take about 5 or 6 clones tonight, root them, put em into flower under 400 hps and get a decent yield in 73 days total. Just looking at the numbers, that's 7-8 days to root the clones, 10 days to get some growth going, and 55 days to flower. This would be a Hempy grow in one gallon pots. It sounds possible to me. What do you think?
What do you mean? The plant is in vegetative growth under 24/7 lighting as it's supposed to be. Not sure what your asking my friend.
lately everyone say their plants are under 24/7. i dont see reason why except no timer and easy access to growbox. i have a feeling that it stresses plants or whats up with that, do they grow faster and stuff?
Ok.... Plants have two cycles: Dark Cycle and the Light Cycle. The light cycle ONLY happens in the light and is the main one that produces food for the plant, hence vegetative growth The dark cycle happens in the light AND dark and also produces food for the plant. What happens when we switch from veg to flowering is that there is a build up of chemicals (which are photosensitive, and thus destroyed by the light cycle)...these chemicals are what tell the plant to start flowering... So...why use 24/7? Because it is easy and does about the same thing as any other vegetative light cycle.....I think most people who use a different vegging schedule are trying to emulate the sun..... Does this stress the plant/hurt it? If it does, a lot of us are/have been screwed.......so no.
How long do your clones normally take to flower? If they flower in 8 weeks then you should be okay, but you will end up with small plants if you only veg for 10 days. Like Smarmy said, you might get a better yield by flowering your mature mother plant than you will from flowering several small clones.
Yea I agree with SMARMY ARMY I would flower the mom and keep 1 clone. But on the other hand what you said sounds like it will work also only problem they will only have 55 days flower.. But if you flowered the mother right now shed have alot more days to flower.. Good Luck with you grow
I am making the preparations to flower mom as we speak. Thanks for the tip. I took 5 clones last night and have them in the bubbler. My next dilemma, which I would still have regardless of how I do this, is that I have to leave for 9 days over Christmas. Ouch!! 9 days with no attention. I've considered putting her under CFL's at 12/12 for those 9 days for safety reasons, but I have gone 4 days without watering my Hempy bucket with no problem, but 9 days is pushing that to the extreme. I could overfill my bucket above the usual drain hole to probably squeeze a couple more days out of her.
i let my hashberrys go 10/14 for 12 days with no attention, cause i went on vacation. all i did was make a quick wick watering system and also like you said squeezed out a few more days by over watering and overflooding it. im happy i didnt put em under cfls.
Make a wicking waterer for them. Good idea on switching to cfl - don't want to come home from vacation to a pile of ashes.
Yeah, that sounds like the ticket. I have no idea how to make one though. Could someone please give me some tips on how to properly set up a wicker waterer?
This would be your best bet for a proper yeild!...all you need is to figure out your wick system and your golden!...my buddy went on vacation awhile back and rigged up an automatic pet water dish to water his plants, he was in soil though and didnt need to water as frequently, but its an idea...good luck,let us know what ya decide....
Well after careful consideration I have decided to scrap the whole thing...sorta. I'm not going to flower yet. In the next 2-3 months my life is going to be crazy, including my whole house being invaded by construction workers for several weeks to a month. My entire ceiling is being refinished under warranty. That will be occuring right in the middle of flower. I also have 2 long trips I have to take. Plus I really need to complete my grow room re-construction. So with everything going on right now to try and flower would be crazy. I gotta keep reminding myself that this wonderful hobby can wind me up in jail if I get sloppy. Security is no. 1. (he says telling the world) I think I am just going to keep my mother healthy and happy for the next couple months and then when everything settles down and I get my closet completed, I'll do it right. If I get really hard up I can do a small scale CFL grow in my smaller cabinet.
