Hi All, I noticed what seems to be a major descrepancy in the FAQs regarding hash oil, and I would welcome any and all learned comments. If you enter the Hash Section from the home page, it talks about SOAKING the pot in isopropyl alchohol for 24 hours or more (up to a week??). In the FAQ section I read of the shaking method which states that the shaking period (contact with the alchohol) should be no more than 60 seconds. How can these both be correct? Thanks
soaking pot in alcohol for 24 hours is going to disolve way more plant material than I am comfortable inhaling. there is a noticable difference in quality when you leave the ISO for longer than a minute. from my experience, I would absolutely not do the 24 hour thing.
Where is the part about soaking it for 24 to a week? I know I've seen this too, just can't find it... seems like most of the alcohol would dissolve after that long, and just leave you weed bits with oil dried on them......

the longer of a soak, the more product, the lower the quality. under a minute an you get less, but higher quality. try doing a rinse under a minute an keep that product seperate from a second rinse/soak of however long you decide. you will have both quality of products to decide for yourself which you want. btw a longer than a minute soak will dissolve chlorophyll, and other often unwanted oils which end up in your final product. ive made iso like this before and no complaints from anyone i know. you and your friends might not want/like it though. good luck!
hey herb longtime no text to LOL just stopping by to say hello unemployed agian seems that the company that i went to work for had one big problem they forget to pay me so i fired them nobody works free. anyway undertaking a new challenge going to do a grow with LED`s i will let you know how it goes. i know they are pricey but they should pay for themselves in six months time just in saved electricity good enough for nasa guess i will give it a go. feel free to move delete this off topic off thread post after you read it herb. peace be with you bro!!!!!!
Thanks for the input. I as much as surmised that this was the case. However, it still begs the question: what percentage of available THC do you suppose would be leeched with a 60 second bath?
