Is there any difference in the way a male and a female grow??? Does one grow faster than the other? Or is preflowers the only way to tell? Does the preflowers show up on all the nodes after the 4th through the sixth, or are they just there?
Legend has it that the male grows taller and bigger just like with humans with the males being natural bigger than females. But we've all seen some huge fat women walking around. This is also true with MJ.... Don't go by size to judge whether you have ladies or dudes. Wait for the preflowers before you start flowering, assuming your started from seed. Preflowers will eventually be on all nodes.
kinda, maybe.... If you grow the same strains over and over, IMO, you might be able to notice little differences.... Like, my males tend to be lankier, taller, and the leaves feel different, coarser or something:eusa_shifty: And sometimes they actually smell different, if you rub the stems .... I just get this gut feeling when they're male.......but it's hard to say. They can trick ya sometimes...especially if you get a pheno that's a really agressive female, I can't really go by the SPEED of growth for the most part....... :icon_confused: I have noticed a dif between the oudoor and indoor....The females are showing first inside, whereas the males would usually show first outside....:icon_confused: And usually, for me, at least, the top nodes show preflowers(or flowers, whatever...:eusa_shifty: ) first. Then they migrate downwards.... This is just me, though, I'm wierd:laughing5: ....I like to have a very close personal bond with mine, and they speak to me......:laughing5:
.........Yet another hate the male attack :qbluewacko: Yes, I think, in the numbers, they DO tend to try to jumo over the ladies, as is the mission, but I'd wait, till you SEE them nuts, before you whack em'. If your watching, you'll have the time to get em' long before they sprinkle their magic dust all over the ladies. Can ya' BLAME em' fer' the wantin' :evil4:
i haven't seen a male plant in a while, thank god and cloning. but when i grew outdoors it seemed the males were larger, which made pulling them even more depressing. as far as preflowers, i often have females showing in 3 to 4 weeks but i haven't seen any on male plants til after flowering. just my experence!! peace, CG
Dont mean to hijack the thread or nothing but as a quick question (sorry if this question has been asked before, ive been trying to read as much as possible) if you buy seeds at websites where they claim their seeds will be feminized, will the plants you grow from those same seeds be all females???
Yes 99% of the time unless they get stressed like all other femmes.. REDSTAR>>Yes they should be if you have purchaed them from a decent seed vendor,for instance recently last year i bought feminised big bang and the church from greenhouse seeds who mostly stock cannibus cup winners and they were all of course females however that dont mean that they cant turn hermie on you due to light leakages or general stress so just be careful but hell yeah thats why we pay extra for feminised cos its a practical guarantee that you are only gonna have females unless like i said you get hermies.(BTW you can start your own threads on topics like this and will get plenty answers,as long as you have read the FAQS then most ppl round here will be as helpful as possibkle answerring questions,etc)Peaceotleaf:
