Heat issues

    I am having a problem controling the temp. I am using (2) 400w HPS lights. Would it make the area any cooler by switching to one 1000w HPS?

    1000 watt is going to be hotter. What kind of ventaltion do you have & what are your temps.-Bud

    1000 is greater than 800....lol.......are your ballasts inside or outside the room?


    about the only thing you can do is create more intake and exhaust.

    I wonder the same thing. Neon, you asked about the location of the ballast. Does this matter? Should it be outside the tent and under my ac? It gets really freaking hot in my room...

    ballasts can put off a lot of heat.....having them outside simply removes a source of heat from inside the room

    I moved my ballast out of the flowering room and under the ac last night. We'll see what the difference is on my thermameter later on tonight. Have a great day all...

    you can also put a small fan blowing on ballast to keep it cool, that's what I do and it makes a huge difference.
