    Mermaid ~Sea Of Green~

So has anyone see a good flick recently?? :new_popcornsmiley:

My daughter's and I saw Baby Mama which was hysterical but I like that silly stuff. Tina Fey and Amy from SNL were really funny. :icon_bounce:
Really want to see Speed Racer as I loved that cartoon since I was a wee one....in fact at age 5 I was in love with Racer X...:love4:
Another one I want to see is "Iron Man"
Only thing it is sooooo expensive to go as a family to the movies so sometimes we wait for them to come out on DVD.

For DVD's that are out now which I have seen .....

**Across the Universe>>>:bigok: loved the music which was all beatles" and the story was good as it had to do with Viet Nam and young love plus sex love and rock and roll. :)
**Juno>>>for my GK sister's...you will love it and a total chick flick!!! I cried as it had one really sad but happy part (won't give it away tho)
**Golden Compass......great special effects and made ya think too.
**The Eye....very good ,,,just saw that tonight as my daughter's frd brought it over but I think it copied so the picture was not great at some points.
** I am Legend......I need to see it again as I fell asleep...lol

Tell me what movies you seen and reviews whether you give it a two thumbs up or not. ;)

Love a good chick flick or sci fi and of course comedy. Not really into scary movies as I get nightmares. :( I do love Action tho and ohhh forgot to mention I am curious if the new Indiana Jones movie will be as good as his other ones. Harrison Ford is my man...loved him since Star Wars as that is when I fell in love with Hans Solo :)

    Shadowman Full Flowering

I'm waiting to see, "No Country for Old Men". AP had a link that had the movie, but it was all fucked up and you can't really enjoy it like that. It looks like it would be really good. I am also trying to find the strangest movie in my opinion..."Blue Velvet". I loved that flick. Kind of creepy though.

sorry to say this mermaid, but in my humble opinion that was the biggest waste of $11.00 and 96 minutes in my movie going lifetime. I almost cried from having wasted that time on my day off.....LOL. the ONLY funny part of that movie was the birthing instructor with the speech impediment. it would have made a good 5 minute skit on SNL.

just goes to show you the differences in individual taste i guess.

we don't get to go to the movies so much at the present time with the lil one and all, but we do rent a lot and watch pay per views quite often.

that best one i have seen recently was "there will be blood"

If you can get past the illegal part (I am sure your can), here is a place to find most any movie you want:

    http://forumw.org/

The files are usually .avi and can be played through VLC Media Player (though I think you can use a few others as well, but not Microsoft Media Player)

Honestly haven't gone to the movies in a long time just because of this, hee, plus we've been watching entire seasons of shows in marathon runs!

Hope this works for yall, if you have any questions, hit me up! :smoke2:

I'm planning on seeing Baby Momma soon. I love TF & AP.

Sadly, I can no longer eat one of my favorite foods - freshly popped movie popcorn, because of my diverticulitis :sad10:

    Mermaid ~Sea Of Green~

Wa....totally understand as I did wish I had waited for "Baby Mama" to come out on DVD as going to the movies is so expensive and a trip for my daughter's and I is about 50.00 with drinks and popcorn. It was not as funny as the commercials but I giggled at some parts and my girls loved it so why we went. The birthing class instructor part was the funniest scene tho. ;)

I remember the days when my kids were babies and toddlers so I feel ya on not getting to the movies. Just wait till Mia is about 4 and you will be seeing nothing but Disney...hehe There was a period of years where I would see nothing in the movies but Disney which yah I like them being a girl but was more then happy when they grew into big girl" movies. :)

Saw "No Country for Old Men" and it was excellent .....forgot to mention that one. Two thumbs up and loved it!!! I saw that with my brother's when it was in the movies but do want to get it on DVD.

Also saw "30 days and night" which was about vampires in that went to Alaska & it was pretty good but had some real bloody parts. My oldest daughter and my bro love those movies. I am not big on horror but it wasn't too bad.....least I didn't have to cover my eyes the entire time,

Has anyone seen "Dragon Wars" and if so was it any good??

  8. Max Rockatansky

    Max Rockatansky Hurricane wrestler.......

It's an OK movie, pretty good story but screwed by bad acting and poor graphics..Personally I'd rate it a B type flick fun if ya like those...

I've not been in a movie theater is over 10 years, and that was as date with my current G/F..

She wanted to see L.A. Chronciles, I feel asleep LOL, of course I'm deaf but the really bad movie did not help either hahah...

30 days of night I own the DVD I really like Vamp/Zombie movies so...

No Country For Old Men was one of the most violent movies I've seen in awhile, but a good flick in spite of the all the bloodshed...

Any one here like "Dawn of the Dead"?

Funny thing is that the mall where they shot that movie is a place where I used to hang out in the early 80's kinda creepy LOL..

Both the new and old ones were shot in the same mall, although they look totally different.....

  9. Mr Douglas

Mr Douglas still stoned again still

    flicks

And imo one of Dennis Hopper's best roles.

I also enjoyed 'No country for old men'. :animbong:

'Forgetting Sara Marshall' was a waste $$ (my :2c:)

    Any reviews on 'Cloverfield' ?

I still want to see that one.

I saw Cloverfield in the theater. It was pretty good, but not for those who get motion sick easily. It was filmed on hand cameras so it's very shakey.

  11. "The Master"

    "The Master" Time Lord

I TRY not to see too many movies too often, only 'cause if I do? I got nothing to do at work with the 'fellas :qbluewacko:

When I go? 99% kids stuff; we just got to "Spiderwyck," last week, and it went over well for all of us.

We all want to DO," Speed Racer," including myself, as I grew up with the show.

Well, "White Castles," are very potent snacks!!!:icon_confused: Eat too many? and you will PAY! Your Digestive tract will be blown out, no lie. :evil4:

How about, "Taledega Nights?." I'm NOT big into NASCAR, but that movie was SO funny. :)

    Mermaid ~Sea Of Green~

Loved Taladega Nights....hysterical but I think anything Will is in is funny but I crack up at that movie. When his boys tell the story bout the teacher in school and how he told the teacher she had a lumpy butt then said she yelled at him and he peed his pants and still is sittin in his pee pants ...hahahah omg priceless! You have to see it to know what I mean.

LOL he also looks like he could be my kid too with his red hair. In fact he looks much like my bro when he was a kid.

Cybele.....loved Napolean Dynamite and any comedy if it is good. I also liked Norbit with Eddie Murphy ...also a funny flick as well.

As for Juno.....you will love that movie! It is a chick flick but really cute and funny.

Across the Universe was also a good flick and loved the music as it was all Beatles plus the love story went with the songs. :)

Also want to see Sex in the City as my g/frds and I all watched the series on HBO so when it comes out we are all gonna have a girls nite out to go see it.

Master...I also grew up with Speed Racer so I am all excited to see it. :)

Also want to see Iron Man as well with my lil nephews. ;)

Happy...not sure about Cloverfield but I too want to see it. Maybe someone can give us a review. :)

WA....hell ya it is crazy what one has to pay to go to the movies. I usually wait for it to come out on DVD unless it is something my kids want to see really bad or one I want to see on the big screen.

Ok watched Pineapple Express" last night and it was hysterical!!! Great stoner movie with lots of action too!!!

Tonight I went to the movies and saw "Grand Torino" with Clint Eastwood and it was a really good flick. Did not like the ending but will not spoil it for those of you who still have not seen it. He is funny as hell in this flick!! May be older but he is still one bad ass!! Sweet car he had in the movie>>wish I had one now as I always love old muscle cars!!! ;)

Anyone seen any good flicks on DVD or at the movies??

Me and my girl just watched My Bloody Valentine 3D, lastnight. The theatre we were in wasnt a 3D theatre, but it was still an awesome movie. Woulda been better with the glasses n all.. I'd rate it a 9.4/10. If your into Horror/Slasher flicks, you def gotta get out n see this one.. Amazingly gory, and plenty of TnA..

    Mermaid ~Sea Of Green~

Not really into horror movies or well slasher as they give me bad dreams>>>yah I am a sissy! I think the movie Halloween skeered the living shit out of me back in the day as the whole boogie man and the fact you can not kill him made me never want to watch one again...hhaa

However I do like a thriller or one that let's your imagination run wild with suspense and less blood and guts.

More into action packed movies or comedy and of course a good romance>>chick flicks!! :)
