We have thrips. Is there time to wait to get to the store for remedies in the morning. They seem to be spreading quickly. We thought we were dealing with humidity probs at first but turned out the thermometer was broken. Then once we saw it was thrips, we freaked. They're taking over quickly. Do we need to panick and pull all the girls tonight? Or can we use something we have? Does neem in the resevoir work? We have all stages. Some are a week away, some are two weeks and three weeks to go. Any help will be so appreciated. We haven't slept in days. :5headache:
DONT PANIC!!!LOL Seriously don't put the neem oil in the res, spray it on the plants, soaking them pretty good. I like to spray them with the hps off, let them stay wet for a little while, then turn on the lights. Honestly I have had thrips for the first time ever this go around. I sprayed some neem oil a few nights in a row, I am not sure all the thrips died but it certainly hasn't hurt the plants much at all.
Until what point is neeming okay? Thanks for the calm. Isn't the neem bad for the buds though. I can only use it up to first 3 weeks of flowering. Is this correct? Is there a solution for the ones getting ready to harvest from 1 to 3 weeks from now? It's affirming that that's right for the younger ones. Thanks so much for getting back.
If the thrips are just ravishing the plants then fucking spray that shit and don't worry about that by the book crap. The thrips are located on the leaves, so just try not to get a lot on the buds, just the leaves. If its a small thrips problem and your just blowing it out of proportion in your mind.:jj: lol If you only got 3 weeks left then maybe you can let it go.
just a idea.. you could water cure your buds if you had to spray them. im sure water curing would remove excess neem oil
not to be rude but a water cure is for moldy bud and used as a last stitch effort. You don't dip the bud in the neem oil, you dillute it with water and dishwashing liquid and you spray it on the leaves. Thrips aren't shit. If it were spider mites then you'd be in for a fight. good luck and relax, let that bud go the distance, you will be thankful you did.
i should have read this thred first before my other post. i also have thrips. i read that they lay eggs in the leaf, so i wonder if the hot shot is worth the effort. maybe use it once or twice a week. what do u think? how long is the normal use of the hot shot? i cant remember.
