As in, has anyone ever tried "smoke curing" their buds? I did a bit of an experiment using hot charcoals and dried herbs/spices, a bit of cigar, some inscense, tea, etc. Dried out nicely (too dry in some cases, but that's my fault) and the flavor of the smoke went into the buds. Smoothed out the smoke bigtime too, and seemed to increase potency. My method was done on the fly (too quick and buds too close to heat), but soon I'm going shopping to make me a smoker of some sort...
I like the herbal taste of MJ, what do you suggest to use and how? Like putting some earl grey lipton bags in the jar with mj curing?:bongin:
As far as the potency comment goes, I did say "seemed" to increase, but that could just be a function of a smoother smoke/more in the lungs. I guess I'll just have to keep testing. :bong2: As far as keeping fruit in your jar while curing or to rehydrate, etc. This is much different. I'm smoking a bowl right now and it's like a whole new strain. What was once had a sweet floral taste has a spicy new twist and a bit of apple - mostly smoke-treated (instead of using "smoked" as not to confuse terms) it with apple-cinnamon spice tea. The process is pretty simple. Burn stuff on bottom, keep buds above but not burning, keep enclosed while allowing air to circulate. I'm going to make the assumption now that the longer the process takes the better it will turn out. I'll work on it and get back to you guys. Right now I'm outta coals...
I'd like to see you do this smoking experiment, but do it so it takes a few days. A nice slow drying. Also, maybe once a day through some trimmings on top of the coals and see what happens. This is interesting.
Maybe just found another use for the stems and leaves after u get all the trics off. It all becomes ash in the end. No evidence at all.
