A week ago I noticed a small infestation of mites while I was trimming off lower branches (3 weeks into flowering). After removing the branches I sprayed with homemade insecticide.
I tossed the removed branches in a shopping bag for later disposal.
2 days ago I grab the bag to get rid of it and the fucking mites that had been on the branches I cut off had built webs inside the bag!
    Determined little shits for sure.
Anyway I tossed the bag and just finished 1 week of alternate day spraying. After another week of that to kill the hatching eggs and I'll be rid of them cause I caught em in time.

    Inspect your plants frequently.

Do the mites eat leaves like a catapillar? Or are they simply a pain because of the webs, eggs, etc.?

Quite a bold jesture to say you will be rid of the mites. They have ways of catching you offgaurd. I recently recieved a couple clones and noticed the mites before I put the in my room. I sprayed with safers and removed all I could see. Five days later I sprayed again for good measure and removed a mite damaged leaf. I had no mites that I could find for two weeks, then spotted a small colonie on another leaf. I sprayed again and removed all that I could see. These pesky things are a pain, and I clean my room every couple days. The battle will always rage on I guess from time to time. I am thinking about a fogger can of pyrethium set on a timer to ward off any potential plant eating insect. Every grower friend I know has had a mite problem at one time or another, and if you let those things get bad, then they can be very hard to be rid of.

I'm near the end of my 2 week spray cycle. I never went that long before so I hope this works. Cdaddy, I wonder if anyone has EVER totally eliminated them after being plagued? Apparently even a grow-guru like Ranger has outbreaks. I hate these fuckers! I have a large garden & I'm on my 4th bottle as I wrap up the genocide-cycle (gotta spray the mamas too)If they come back as I get closer to harvest I'll use 1000 predators... AGAIN! They're good for an all natural band-aid i.e. 1 crop.

One thing I've noticed is that pyrithium doesn't slow or damage the plants like Safer's & Neem-oil do.

(if i sound extra retarded its cuz of the Percasetts;))

OMFG, Ranger is mixing his own pesticide, and I have to say as a former exterminator that the thought of that scares the hell out of me--Ranger, which direction do I look to so I can see the mushroom cloud?? JUST KIDDIN BRO! So far, I havent had any problems with mites, but summer has yet to take off.

One thing about pest control is to go to the source of the problem proactively. Spraying out the room etc. because of infestation is a RESPONSE to the issue, so integrating pest management techniques may help the overall prob, Ranger.

If you have a compressed hand sprayer, treat the cracks and crevices outside the home, specifically treating casing cracks and underneath the siding--hopefully that will guard against any insects coming in thru the sill plate. Also, go over the entire yard with a bag of diazinon, and water it in gently. You would be surprised how powerful that **** really is, and how long it will keep your yard pretty much bug free. Pay special attention to growth against the base of the house, if you can remove it please do, otherwise you may need to power spray the foliage with a good wettable powder solution, or some other long lasting residual. Tempo rocks on the outside, but you need a license to get it.

Of course I may be full of ****. In my years as a pco, I've never been asked to treat a grow room:) Just don't get to many calls about that. I'll watch for the mushroom cloud, bro!!!
