I've found that the BEST way for me to do a quick dry is to put the buds in a paper bag and put it in the car, in the sun, for a day. For me it's the best taste and smell out of all the other methods I've tried . . . microwave, oven, dehydrator, fans and heaters and a few other ways. Now, when I see I'm going to be running out of weed, I snip a nice branch off a late stage flowering lady and let it dry properly so that when I run out I'm all set with some properly dried buds. To each their own . . . This is just what works for me. :alienwink:
microwaves work by vibrating water molecules. Meaning, I think microwaving buds pops ALL of the heads on the trichromes. Microwaving on a 1 setting might work a little better, but I still stick by a regular oven for speed drying --- 150 degrees for half an hour or so. It works, and the bud is slightly more potent than a microwave dry job (I've done a side by side). still not optimal... sticking it on the light or in a paper bag under less intense heat for a day or two is a much better solution.
If you wanted it "RIGHT NOW" HappyHapppyHighGuy's micro-steam method works fine. For quick dry put some bud in a mayonaise jar with a bunch of holes punched in the top. Then you can put it in the sun or a hot car. About a day or so.
I scoped a bud I nuked today out of curiosity, trich heads were intact. I microwave on full power 10 sec at a time, blowing the buds cool each round for about 2 mins. The reason I don't like this method is not because it does a bad job, the bud tastes pretty good... I don't like the method because it makes it easier to pluck early Here's part of the Blueberry Gum bud I plucked today, her nugs weigh about 2g dry now with the sugar leaves.
No shit man....I have yet to cure any because its smokes so well Me i go 5 sec bursts...takes a little longer but the taste is even better.
5 sec is definitely better, just excite the water a little so you can blow it off via convection... it just gets tedious at that short an interval. Sometimes I do like 5 5 second bursts then increase to 10s to the end, especially when the stuff pops alot right off the bat.
Damn skimpy...ill go for 10 bursts after the steam stops but like i said i make sure its way to the outside of the plate. Cool man im glad someone else knows what im talking about. My ww was so good that way, and it smelled so good, make the whole house smell spicy and dank.
better u than me I prefer to let it cure I dont care how you vap away half the potentcy it still tastes like crap if you dont cure.
Nope, not once....but its not like i got bricks laying around, the closest i cam was by the time i got to nuking my last ice cola it had about dried out . To be honest the first time i tried it [curing]i fucked it all up and been a little leary since then I just cant help but think all the folks who say it tastes like shit just dont know how to do it. Oh well to each their own
Or perhaps those that say it's tolerable don't cure their weed? BTW, I've tried every quick dry method out there and none produce acceptable toke.
Take the BEST pot on the planet and put it in the microwave and I GUARANTEE I won't smoke it. Microwave drying is not an acceptable means of making MJ smokable. Harvesting a branch early and smoking it when it's properly dried is a WAY better method. Microwave = oop: Just my thoughts and no offense to anyone who likes to smoke shit.
wwboy well....you can i spose ya can flash dry yer bud but dude ya cant go out like that...to dry and( cure) marijuana is something im pretty bent on...i really beleive in the proper dry and curring of quality smoke....buds done the right way and stored for 3 mos will give you the real taste /flaver and quality burn your after....im 100% against flash dry /micro/oven er anything else......(SLOW) is the way to go ....take the time to do it right....always....it even makes swag pot a lil better...cant say i havent done er been there before but that perhaps you could learn from my screw up.......all the luck bro. wwboy.
