I agree.

 

They'll be fine like they are now. Things look good. You can put a seed heating mat under them and put it on a timer so it can warm their root system during the coldest part of the day/night and it will help them tolerate cooler smbient room temps. Seed heating mats can be pretty useful in cooler climates where you're using CFL for veg since those CFL don't produce much heat.

Just a simple question, do you have drainage holes in your solos? You really don't want the water to flood the bottom of the cup.

 

yes sticky i drilled out a few drainage holes in each cup... thanks for asking... seems its very easy to make stupid little mistakes lol... so please all questions as well as suggestions are greatly appreciated seeing i know nothing and probably overlooked what most would consider basic... thank you for checking out my grow

How are those bag seed babies? I notice at the timne you took the pic, they were "leggy"--a little stretchy due to the light being too far away. No big! Ive had em fall right over and lie on the surface because they got too tall, too fast and were still too thin to support themselves, LOL. In a few days, they thicken up and stand tall again.


Im guessing the bagseed plants have a couple sets of leaves by now?


The beauty of flos is, you can bring the light practically on top of their heads without burning them. I think it's great you started with bag seed, toi kind of show the way for your REAL grow.

You're ahead of the curve my man....I remember my first grow was on 3ft tall plant with fluorescents surrounding the entire thing, lol! Good luck, i'm sure this will be a great harvest and you will work out some kinks and learn some things along the way.

By the way, if you haven't already checked for light leaks, you may want to do so. The way I do it is; with all the lights turned on OUTSIDE of the flowering chamber, you go inside the flowering chamber with the door closed and the HPS off. Wait for a minute or two for your eyes to adjust to the dark, and then look around to see if there is any light coming in through any cracks, holes, etc.

i know i have a few areas that i havent sealed for light yet... the include the opening where the cords are entering the chamber... and once i paint the door imi going to weather strip it... the bi fold doors for the closet still close normally... still need to vent it as well...





ok i also am going to close up the veg room as well but much less fancy... just going to use cardboard...

 

ok a quik update


so heres how things look on day 8 of my first grow... im pretty happy so far seeing these babies went into paper towel to germinate just 8 days ago... yup started germinating on nov 2... seems they stopped growin tall and have started filling out... the bag seeds are looking very nice as well... too bad its just mid grade commercial crap...lol... please leave any comments and suggestions...

 

Haha, don't be so harsh... You might be surprised at how they turn out when grown well. Sometimes mids are crap because of how they are grown. The fact that they had seeds shows that they did not receive the care and attention they deserve.


Under your care, they may turn out much better than the original.


Then again, they could just be crap....:roffl: ... you never know.... :alienwink:

AB... so very true but i dont have much confidence in the quality of the bud from teh bag seed... but hey why not???

ok all if you look at my pics i have 2 bag seeds im growing a few days ahead of my good seeds... the first bag seed has already shown a root growing out of the solo cup... it hasnt even been a week that thye r in solos... should i replant them now or just the one showing roots out the bottom??? plaese offer any suggestions im not too concerned about the bag seed just ran it so i can see what to expect sort of... thank you all in advance... its all the help and advice ive received from many GKers that has allowed me to get this far...

 

1 week? Hmm i say wait bit more. Make sure there is a really good rootball, before you transplant. Gl
