One thing I can tell you Ras is the idea behind ebb and flo is the faster you can get the water to drain down thrue the medium and drain out the better it works because the whole idea is that it pulls oxygen down to the root mass. If you use pots with drain holes in the bottom I dont think you will get fast enough drain thrue the medium. The roots may also start to plug your holes then you will get no drainage at all.

Good point Teamster, seem like roots might cause plug. But i dont think it will effect the drain timing alot. Maybe bit slower.

I don't see that being a problem. My hempys drain quickly and they are packed full of perlite and only have tiny holes to drain through. The pots should have several 3/4" holes and I'm going to fill them with hydroton pellets that should allow plenty of crevices for roots and air flow. I could swear I've seen a similar setup before here on GK. I have 2 1k watt MH lights to veg under and in the other room I have 5 1k watt HPS lights. The whole room will be on the same 12/12 cycle just at different weeks of flowering. When 1 table finishes I will chop and clear it and refill it with new 12" plants from the veg room. With the table and rez and keeping space between the lights and the tops of the plants I need to flower them at no more than 12" tall. My ceilings are only 7 ft or so. I'm trying to maximize my yields in the space I have. Rather than spend more time vegging and growing big trees I think it will work out better to run smaller plants in a SOG.

I'm so in love with flood tables with seperate containers. It's much more convenient for me to have one dedicated flowering area and a seperate area dedicated to veg. The only logical way of doing so with EnF is containers IMO. For me, the best choice was the 6"x6"x7" 1-gallon square pots. I can fit 4 per square foot, and are perfect for flowering small clones sog style. They can still sustain large plants if you fuck around and let them get too big lol. I've been using one table for veg that always runs week 3 of Use's veg formula, and I keep mom's and veg clones/seedlings in it. After about a week or two, the roots do come out the bottom of the pots, and through flowering they do get intertwined with each other in a filled table, but that's why I run 3 smaller tables in flower. I can fill each one with one week old clones of the same or similar strain(s), and never move them again until they're ALL ready to chop. They can fill all the channels and pockets of the table and suck it dry in between floods.

    Looking good TC.

So the plastic bins work. Excellent. Thnx for info too.

use buckets with net pot lids Ras.....then all you do is pick up the lid with plant and roots, drop into a spare buckets to catch the runoff and take to your flower room and drop into your new flower bucket

If you got the room man, just turn all your rooms into flower/veg combo rooms so all you have to do is change the timers and maybe a bulb, thats what I did atleast

I was running like anywhere from 30-100 soil pots to get say from a LB to a few LB, then i switched to growing a larger plant in a faster system and cut my plants down to 4-12 to get the same weight and actually increased my yields and decreased my gardening time by 50%

    jus a thought:passsit:

So, I cover my tables with panda film to prevent the roots from getting light. This also helps keep the root zone cool (say goodbye to Pythium if your ambient air temps aren't outrageous), and a high RH (roots like moisture ;) ) . Just cut an X over where you want to plant your clones. A good idea no matter what medium you use.

I have used 6" rockwool cubes, filled tables with hydroton, 6" net pots with hydroton, and currently 10" net pots with hydroton. I like the 10" net pots for a few reasons. It makes cleaning the rock between harvests a breeze. It allows the roots to grow out of the pot. My tables have a 3-4" thick layer of roots by harvest time, it looks like a giant platter of pasta. They are really 12" with the edges, so they fit 16 into a 4x4' table perfectly.

Now, I veg if needed in the same tables. You can solve the veg problem by simply taking big clones or just going with more plants per table. Then you don't need to veg. If you can't do either of the above and need to transplant, then TC and Ras have a pretty good method there. Though I would just veg in a 3" net pot and then transfer to the 10" net pots in my case.

Quick flood and drain, not extended flood durations are best.

Ya Useless the white over the table is great idea. Putting x over each pot.

    Cool, thnx for help. :passsit:

Btw here is another look at Useless idea. Here link.

And I know he is keeping his Resorvour, beside the table.

But I want to put the Res in the tent, under the table.

So Useless did you make your own Res, to fit under the table,

or is there way to buy a Res like yours?

My ressy's are under the tables. If you look at pic #1 and #3 you can just see the edges of the ressy's. They are just rubbermaid heavy duty 27 gallon containers. The container was thick black, but the lid was see through yellow. So a little gray plastic paint after cutting out an access hole was about all it took. I use a piece of panda film taped to the lid to cover the access hole to prevent light getting in the ressy. (Though in the pic the cover is folded back so you can't see it). A bit ghetto, but better than shelling out $$$ for one at the hydro shop. Cost me $13 per ressy. LOL

Ya they do try to sell their Res's lol....

Home Made! Thats even better, and goes right under.

Ok so you got x Res, for how many plants?

And Do you have to re fill them often?

    Excellent, . Thanks :passsit:

Each 27 gallon ressy is for a 4x4 table. Doesn't matter how many plants I put in it. In full bloom, I have to top off with plain water once during the week.

Thank You, Useless. Im try to fit either 2 (4x4 ft) trays to fit in the tent with 2 res under table.

Or fit just one ( 4x8 ft) tray, with one or two resvours, under.
