my buddy and I made this the other night its a butter press. you stick your leaves and scrapins in the tube, put the plunger in and cap it..screw it in place. then put the drill on top of the rod straight out of the top and screw the plunger down into the leaves to press them as hard as possible to get maximum squeezage of butter outta the leaves. its an innovative system that ive never seen anywhere before on this scale. tell me what you think. /monthly_2011_02/57a6cc44ed653_completepress.jpg.ba36fa89e80fb8803d3d26906b4b5910.jpg /monthly_2011_02/57a6cc4500c35_endstrinerforpress.jpg.98a513055a485852b5ba508a05bb8db8.jpg /monthly_2011_02/57a6cc4505dde_plungerforpress.jpg.fa78f2d380c7bf7c48aefaa8590fdb76.jpg /monthly_2011_02/57a6cc450d279_topofpress.jpg.222eda531f92a82b4cb8c189bef35984.jpg /monthly_2011_02/IMG00383.jpg.b65c376a4b83b5155f38c487a65fe39f.jpg
Ahhh... not sure what to say. Is that to squeeze after making butter? If so... how much more do you think you're going to get, as opposed to just squeezing the shit out of your cheese cloth? :icon_scratch:
well at first it was to squeeze even more stuff outta the batch at first but adding the strainer at the bottom of the case is amazing. and you can use a cheese cloth that fits around the end of the case or whatever your draining your butter into in my case a bucket cuz there is so much butter. im talking massive quantities with this lil invention not just a here and there butter maker. you can put alot of plant matter in that case and it will push it down with so many pounds of pressure. itll squeeze basically everything until its dry basically. lol. this would probably be used when perfected by a day to day baker. thats what I use it for.
I'm not knocking it. I only make butter a few times a yr., so it wouldn't be practical. Good job :thumbs-up:
oh man i knew you werent dogging it. thx though man! yeah it wouldnt be very practical just to have it for a couple times a year but if you did use it it would squeeze everything possible lol. thx for the input i didnt know if it would be a good idea or not haha. im trying to make things that will be patented and used in the medical marijuana field eventually when its legalized.
I dig it! I may be doing quite a bit of butter making in the future. I'll have to devise something like that when the time comes. Much better than wringing it out by hand.
I like it! ...that's pretty crafty!!...I have been making canna butter alot here lately and I don't enjoy the squeezing the cheesecloth by hand method cuz it's quite hot to the touch and makes for an uncomfortable method. I was just telling a friend the other day that I need'd to construct some kind of a press to squeeze butter thru cheesecloth becuz I was not thrill'd about the process cuz it basically very hot yet from the simmer...he agreed that a press of some sort would make it a less hands on method...I like your idea!...I may tweak it a bit...however with your setup as an example it should be fairly easy...thanks!!:thumbs-up: I
Great idea, we make lbs of butter at a time and lots gets waisted, I bet that is exactly what we need. Thx for the idea
It makes some sense. The only problem I see is it's too effective. By squeezing every last drop off butter from the plant mash you're also incorporating more excess plant material into your final product which increases the weed taste. I've found my worst batches are when I try to squeeze all I can get and my cleanest are when I don't and go with a lighter press.
Cool idea man, thanks for posting it up. I've only made butter a few times, and have been turned off from doing it because of how bad my butter (and the resulting baked goods) tasted. Toss up some pics of one of your runs, so we can see the final product? :bravo:
