OK EVERYONE IM JUMPING FOR JOY.... THE STATE OF CT HAS VOTED TO DECRIMMINALIZE SMALL AMOUNTS OF MJ THE STATE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES HAS VOTED IN FAVOR OF DECRIM. THE GOVERNOR HAS ALREADY SAID HE WILL SIGN IT INTO LAW... DETAILS TO FOLLOW..... sorry for the caps too excited
State Senate bearly passed over the weekend and needed a tie breaking vote to pass. The House passed it 90 to 57 and so far they said if you are under 21 and get caught with under 1/2 oz is $150.00 fine and loss of drivers lic for 60 days. didnt say anything if you are over.
Good to hear for you and all of the toking citizenry of CT. Just another small step in the right direction. Retiree
That's awesome, have my fingers crossed.... I was so stoked when I found out NY was decrim. A bit of a change from Idaho, that's for sure. Perhaps one day people will realize how much of a tedious waste of money the fight against mj is.... GTWT
I'm pretty sure that NY IS 'decrim', but it's still illegal to a point. Ny will fall well before PA, but this whole mid-Alantic area will be last, just before the backwards, bible-thumping southern States.
NY is decrimm... up to a zip is a fine only in ct it looks like 1/2 zip or less will be $150.00... not confirmed yet.
Ah, astro, you forget about the hillbilly religious zealots out west. Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, the Dakotas.... they all suck. Montana's full of hillbillies, but they like to smoke grass.... NY is fairly lax, compared to where I've lived before. Slap on the hand for a small bag, but if you get caught with any kind of dirty pipe/etc, your ass is grass. Though I've heard most of them just take your weed and make you smash your pipe.... GTWT :XXhippylove:
GTWT seeing your a cutie pie im sure your experience with LEO would be quite a bit different than mine... LMAO. Aint no fat white man getting away with anything if pulled over. so while thye may take your stash and smash your pipe... id be cuffed and stuffed.
One thing about the NY law is that police are doing stop and frisks and if you have weed on you then you get charged with "public display" which changes the game.
so how can they justify a stop and frisk without a reason? you can't search someone without a just reason... correct me if i'm wrong, guys..... GTWT :XXhippylove: BB - actually, one of my g'friends boyfriend got stopped, and he's a fat white guy. cop made him smash his pipe, then he drove off. so there.

This is great news, I am a lifelong resident of CT myself, and have been working towards this for some time.
Good news for sure. Decriminalization is always a step in the right direction. It means that the legislators in your state have finally conceded that locking up citizens and giving them criminal records for possession of small amounts of MJ. Decriminalization comes in different levels. Some places are fully decriminalized and some partially decriminalized. California was partially decriminalized until last year when it was finally fully decriminalized. Any possession here under 1 ounce is a simple confiscate the weed and get a ticket equivalent to a parking ticket. We're expecting to have another vote in 2012 for some form of full legalization. Good news for CT residents for sure though.
Its only up to 25 grams in NY, so you damn sure don't want to have a zip on ya if at all possible! First 2 offenses are "civil citations", basically like a Speeding ticket. $100 fine first time, $200 second time and then it becomes a misdemeanor. They will also try to weight it whatever you have it in (depending on the cop I'm sure). I know a kid who got popped with 1 z in a jar and they included the jar weight! His lawyer got it tossed after a battle. But they got crafty with their 25g crap. Oh, and speaking of crazy NY law's they just decided that lap dances ate subject to sales tax hahahaha
how the hell they goona enforce that one? lol... i cant see the dancer figuring out sales tax after giving a couple add on lap dances lmao
That's only because most Americans are unaware of their rights or unwilling to go out of their way to stand up for them.
