Ok guys I'm starting up my next grow. I want to use the Afghan kiss Ryder's I Have an I want to have 9 (in 2 gallon pots)in the same tent I had 5 (in 5 gallon pots)in before. But looking at all these pictures of autos they are pretty big , bigger than what I thought .my question is are they that much different in size than a normal plant. Will I be running into space issue when these lady's are in a 4x4 tent? Or should I just run some non auto strains and just veg for less time ?? Next question do you ever change the light cycle of an Auto from 20/4 ? If not then this kills my plan to run autos and regular seeds As always thanks guys
They'll be fine in those containers and you can change them to 12/12. It's just that they will flower even if you keep them vegging. Going 12/12 won't hurt them.
Running on 12/12 with autos has been proven to decrese yeild. I run my autos on 20/4 the whole grow. I have 5 in my 4x4 tent and wish I only grew 4. My tent is completely filled. Depending on the strain and the medium that you grow in will depend on the size of the plants. I've been extremly impressed with my autos! The Afgan Ryders are supposed to be pretty small though. So you could prob get away with running 6 in a 4x4, or 8 with SCROG. Just some newb advice.
Scrogging or doing anything, IMO, will lessen your harvest as the plant can care less what you do to it, it will flower as you do it. I ran/run autos on 12/12 and got no difference. edit: Well, some autos are bigger than others, but most stay under 3 feet.
well thats the thing i had 5 in 5 gallon vegged for 5 weeks and they were HUGE. so im just trying to gauge is 9 will be good. the little 2 gallon pots fit 9 nicely . but pots and plants are different haha. Still not sure if i can run that many i might need to upgrade! EDIT : and im guessing mine wont stretch as much as others because im running a 1k and keep it reasonably close to the plants. i actually raised my light last time to get mine to stretch a little because they were so short i couldnt even water em ahahah
OK hopefully last questions about autos. The Afghan kush Ryder's say they take 45-55 days to harvest . Is that from the Time they hit the dirt til harvest or the time It takes once they start flowering. So I'd actually take 45-55 an add 14 or so days on for te veg period? As always thanks guys
That is supposed to be total from seed to harvest, but they are way off most of the time from what i've heard. My strain was supposed to be a 75 day strain from seed. I'm now on day 99 and have a good two weeks to go.
So im probably better off Waiting until after october to do something inside if thats the case. Can anyone confirm ????
Its 45-55 days of flowering plus the vedge time which is extra month or more. Just harvested 1 of 24 AKR. It vedged 27 days n finished flowering at 37 days of flowering. The other 23 are still goin but are close to being done. Maybe 5 - 10 days left. Pics to come.
9 is perfect amount of AKR on 4x4 tent. You should get. One gallon pots, plastic, black from lowes. This is perfect amount of space for them. The size depends on the pheno of the AKR plant. Some are 3 n half foot tall Some are 2 n half. And some are one and half foot tall. I use 20/4 light schedule. Yo can use 12/12 but your yeild willbbe significantly lower. Maybe by half the yeild. They yeild alright under 600w HPS on 24/0. 4 of them are purple, alot especially on top colas. These plants love magnesium. Yo need to give them 1/2 of tbsp/ per gallon of water of. Epsom Salt. Once a week when you give them plain water. Add that to water. Fallowing Useless nute schedule is great. You need to give alot of nutes. Start useless shdule week 1 formula on small seedlings 2 days old They handle the nutes well. . I have 24 AKR goin right now. One got harvested today. Pics to come later.
