Alrighty have an issue, cured killed my stink...wtf? I know stink can go during cure then come back, but this is at about 5 weeks and I haven't changed anything I normally do. WTF?
Seed, but it was so perfect for a while....then nothing...and still nothing I've seen it before with certain strains that when they finally dry they smell like nothing...but it always came back after a few days sealed up. Wondering if I should seal it and let it set for a couple more days or it is what it is at this point. Smoke is still good, nice smooth flavor, but just no smell (you know what smell I'm taking about, it still smells like weed I guess but not dank). When you throw it into a grinder in throws off a great smell for a min, but if you crack a bud nothing.... I'm totally open to ideas THAT YOU HAVE TRIED AND WORKED...lol
Ideas that I tried that worked: Pinch that bitch, cut it up and smoke it. As long as the taste is there and the stone is just as good, what smell?
Nip I have no experience trying to make my weed stink. However I have noticed that the power/dankness of the smell can come and go. I had a batch that I jarred a while ago that I kept sniffing as I burped it while curing. After a month or so I was disappointed because I thought it just smelled like hay or mowed grass. Then 4-5 months later as I was finishing up the smoke, it was pungent and dank. So maybe your smell will improve with time?
I'm with the others - as long as the high is there, who gives a fuck? I can see how it would bug you though, if you share with a friend, and almost everyone I know who smokes sniffs the shit first. So they sniff, and they say, meh, what is this bullshit? This could also be the same person who scoffs at anything that's not in a donkey dick sized bud - heaven forbid if you have a bag of shake, and it doesn't smell - could be the best weed on the fucking planet, but these fucktards know it all. GTWT, who pissed in your corn flakes? Thank God I never shit all over anyone elses weed until after I smoked it. If it tastes like shit and doesn't do anything for me, I'll tell you. If I like just the taste, I'll tell you that too. If I like the buzz but not the taste, hell, I'll tell you that too. Smell isn't everything, but I've seen pot that was so dry it would never have any smell left to it, but it still tasted good. I've also seen pot that didn't smell, but had enough moisture left to it that when it was cut up it had a nice aroma to it and if it still didn't, once lit, it did.
That's the crazy part...in a grinder it gots some stink, but you crack open a bud nothing...shit I wouldn't worry about 1 lb in the car with it...that's a stretch but you know what I'm saying Still great smoke, and nice smooth flavor, maybe it needed more attention or something during the cure and i missed the signs. Never really had this happen before so i thought i'd bring it up and see what others had to say. Whats weird is i burped everything again, the wife came around and said what are you smoking..smells good, but even when i told her and showed her she couldn't smell it up close with a single bud or two. perplexing for sure, but you shouldn't have to have 3/4 lb out for a scent to be around.
