can the dark cycle be ruined by turning on a regular 40 or 60 watt incandescent bulb? (Edited by misty at 7:20 pm on April 17, 2003)
I have read somewhere before that to cheak the light in your room in dark, put your finger towards your eye and if you see your finger, it is too much light. I you poke yourself in the eye, it should be just right.
Umm, wouldn't it get moonlight and skyshine in the wild? Our full moon is bright enough to cast a shadow ... Just wondering.
even though the moon may cast some bit of a shadow ....plants use more of the red yellow and violet spectrums during thier flowering period ..moonlight is not nearly as intese in brightness nor in the spectrum as sunlight ..........however.if you CAN control it .....total darkness is the perfered kb
No light whatsoever during the dark hours will make the flowering happen and fast.. If you have any light entering the growspace..then you have a chance of getting shemales,..also known as hermies..and it can also prolong flowering. And sometimes your plants wont flower at all if your plant is sensitive...Not good.. CG
ok... i get the picture...i did not think that the plants would even get light from a regular light bulb... i know you can't grow under one...
****, that sucks for me then, cause every morning at 6:30 I get out of the shower and open up my closet door where my clothes are hanging. Right inside is my cabinet and I know fo' shizzle that it isn't light tight... My light turns off at 6 then at 6:30 I just open it for a bit. Even if its for 10 seconds or so will it do a dramatic affect? I've gone inside of my closet before and tried to compare what i think it would look like where my plants are growing and I think that its pretty darn dark. But for the rest of the day until 6pm nothing is touched. Everything is left with the lights off, doors close, blinds shut. Hey misty, how far in flowering are you, maybe we are in the same boat as each other? I'm 26 days in flowering right now and my buds are forming pretty well I think.
i'm about 10 days and things are looking PRETTY DAMN GOOD!!! YAAHOOOOOOO!!! The only thing that sucks is that i have to wait two month's more...
Wow, thats along time. I'm expecting mine to be ready in about 4 more weeks or so. Just in time for 4/20!!! WOOHOO
I have a friend who told me his plants weren't budding after 4 weeks of 12/12. I gave his set-up a look-see. Turns out the small red light on his power strip was keeping the plants from budding. A tiny piece of elect. tape fixed that. As a last resort, use a green light bulb. Plants don't 'see' green light. kbtoyz: Great answer!
Ranger- No way, man. I can't belive that red light was causing that much of a problem. Is it something to do with the color red? I mean, outside, these plants would get light from the moon and that doesn't cause issues(AFAIK). And yeah, I'm taping over them damn things right now. Can't take the chance. Thanks for the info, man. Later Hah! Just read kbtoyz resonse... (Edited by nulfire at 7:32 pm on Mar. 6, 2003)
i think that the red tip of this spliff just caused my plants to revert back to vegatative growth... ha ha ha
