I find myself referring to non-MJ plants in 'strains'. Like the types of tomatoes I grow, I'm all "Yeah, that particular strain is susceptible to end rot"

(BTW, what WOULD you call them? As a gardener, I'm embarrassed to say I have no idea...)

    oops.

and yeah, I bet I have a bowls' worth of smoke on my floor/dresser at any given time, that will just get swept up with dog hair.

I'm not exactly sure, but I've heard genus, and strain used back in science classes. To many bowls and beers ago to fully remember.

Before a grower takes a hit of someone else's bud, he first asks to take a look at it. He takes a good look and a deep whiff of it, and follows up with a smart ass remark about his findings. A non grower might take a good whiff of it, but to him, weed just smells like weed. So his remark is usually something like "yup, smells good, lets hit that shit"

    Never in bags

Growers usually don't use plastic bags to carry/store weed. When I'm growing, I have all kinds of little glass jars, tupperware, film canisters, old pill bottles - anything with a seal - at hand to carry bud around. I need the seal cause I'm always at some stage of curing. My hobby weed never makes it into a commercial (underground) plastic sandwich baggie. When I'm buying, I get it in a baggie, and sometimes it just stays there. For non-growers around here, weed lives in plastic sandwich baggies. You don't want to throw the original away cuz it's dusty with kief that you will try to smoke when all the weeds gone.

Also anybody who knows anything about wax/bho/oil is either a grower or a groupie of a grower or from outta state. I've never heard of anything but black hash for commercial sale around here, and that very rarely.
