Hey guys! So I have a pretty bad mite problem after I left town for a few days. Due to a number of problems I have decided to cut this run and start over from scratch with no issues. What is going to be the best way I can ensure that I begin with no mites? Bombing? Bleaching? Glass cleaner? Any help is appreciated! Thanks guys

FloraMite It's expensive but if you look on Ebay you can find people who buy a large container of it and sell it in smaller quantities. We have a member Discorilla that just bought a small amount from Ebay I believe.

IMO it's one of the best treatments to completely rid yourself of mites. I used it and have been mite free now for almost a year.

It's not organic and is fairly toxic so read and follow the directions. Usually one or two treatments are all that are necessary. It makes a chemical bond to the plant and stays actively killing mites for up to 21 days after treatment. It takes up to 6 weeks to completely break down. You really only want to use it on vegging plants and not flowering plants. As for the rest of the room, a good 10% bleach solution cleaning will kill everything else not on a plant. Wash everything and wipe down the walls with Bleach solution. You can set off a pyrethrin bomb as well if you like, but get the good ones, not the Doctor Doom .4% ones you need the better more powerful 4% strength ones, I forget the brand name offhand.

Afterwards, you can hang up some Hot Shot No Pest Strips in the Veg room to keep them from returning. Personally I haven't used them, but a LOT of growers do and they work to keep them from coming back. It will drive them from the room if reintroduced accidentally.

If you regularly bring in clones from outside sources you need an isolation chamber outside of your main area with some CFL's where you can treat new arrivals with Flora Mite and quarantine them for a week or two before bringing them into your main room.

    Hope that helps. :passsit:

You can buy it for $25/oz currently, and an ounce will last you a long time. you only need a 1/4 Tsp at a time, so it'll last a while. I haven't used it yet, but from how people would describe it, it's a nuke for those fuckers!

wash/ spray the walls and floor with 50/50 bleach n hot water, let air dry, then repeat again. Then drop off 2 PYRETHRUM bombs with all vents shut off, leave room for 24hrs, leave it sealed up as tight as possible.

It's still hard to control them, because of outside sources. You could walk past a bush and pick them up. It's best to rid yourself of them, and then find a preventative to treat them with. After Floramite, I plan on using a mix between Neem Oil and Diatamaceous Earth once I do my two treatments of the nuke.

I had spider mites once, thank God. We're out in nature everyday. I don't allow my boys in the flower room (and certainly not a 3'x4' tent) and I'm usually (pretty much always) in different, more comfortable clothes.

I started to notice what looked like webs and in no time, I was infested.

I like to be as organic as I can, but fuck that! I hung one HotShot in the flower room, one in the grow tent, and I haven't had any since. I was initially pissed re: having to wipe everything down, so I first tried what seemed easiest (lazier).

When the boys are due for Frontline, we occ. pick-up ticks, but only had that issue once.

In most cases hanging those No Pest strips won't get rid of a full on infestation. Not saying they don't work or that it can't rid you of an infestation but I would recommend additional measures to ensure that they are successfully eradicated once and for all.

Never hurts to change clothes before going onto your grow room if you've been out in the outdoors or working in an outdoor garden.

Keeping animals out of the room is a good idea too. :passsit:

Dogs are not allowed in, as soon as I'm home I'm into comfortable clothing, and Teamster and Bud saw the pics. They were bad!

Just tryin' to save somebody time and aggravation if it works in their case

Iv'e tried the no pest strips too. They seem to keep flyers away but the spider mites will set up shop and party on those things. I think they are worthless for mites. I tossed all of my plants, scrubbed my room with bleach solution so strong your eyes watered, let off a bunch of pyrithium bombs, put an oil heater in the room and cranked it as high as it would go (to make the eggs hatch) and then repeated the whole process over and over for a week. I have not had those little bastards since. This will be the first time in two years that I have had my room running in the summer so it's going to be a challenge to keep the little bastards at bay. Luckily I am only doing seeds so if I get them and need to nuke them with floramite you can bet your ass I will.

I've battled with mites from the get-go. The last time was one or two leaf spots to full-on massive webs one to two days later. I mean, bad news. Looks like where I live now is much, much worse than my old house out west.

I had 2 No Pest strips up, in a very small room - didn't do shit. Bombed the fuck out of the room. Didn't do shit.

What's worked so far (and is natural, and cheap as hell!) is spraying my plants with soap solution. I use Bronner's, and in a normal sized spray bottle, I put a modest sized squeeze's worth in there, added water. I douse my plants, then to make sure I get the underside too, I have to fondle my plants a bit. You're a dude, I assume, you can figure this stuff out! ;)

I used Bronner's after the no pest strips failed, after the bombs failed. IMHO, try that first. You don't have to order shit, it's not toxic chemicals, and it's cheap. While there are many variations of mites and many can be resistant to different treatments, if a treatment is going to fail, might as well be the cheap one first.

Haha yeah I think the no pest strips keep them away but last time I tried them I gave up when I saw I group of mites living it up on the plastic! Luckily my veg tent did not get hit with the infestation so I am doing bleach cleans daily till my floramite gets delivered (this 3 day weekend isn't helping!). I didn't think about heating the room to make them hatch though that's a good idea! It just needs to stay above 72' right? That shouldn't be too hard in my area.

I can't wait for these fuckers to be gone for good! I'm gonna do a combo of EVERYTHING possible lol. Floramite, organacide, p bombs, and no pest strips. Finally I will kill them all haha. Luckily my animals know better than to come in. They follow me right to the door and lay down when I go inside

And good advice green thumb! It's worth a shot at least until my floramite gets here! Always love giving a cheap option a try haha :)

blast the heater, the hotter the room gets the better. Just don't let any bug bombs loose in the room when the heater is on or you'll get to exoerience fireballs!

I've been looking around for these and can't seem to find em, did you get them at a particular store or online? No mites that I know of- I check daily- but I'd like to be prepared.
