    A parent has an obligation to their child to do what they think is best. If you think your 15 year old is mature enough to make their own medical decisions, that is fine. Being able to drive (though you can't without a permit at 15) or have a job (which you can't have without parents signature at 15) DOES NOT make you an ADULT. The parent is still in charge of the decision making, which can include letting the child make medical decisions, though most are not mature enough to do so.


    The same obligation does NOT apply to a parent who IS an adult. You do not make medical decisions for your competent parents.


    No one said marijuana wouldn't improve her father's quality of life. But it is not her or her mothers place or obligation to SNEAK DRUGS to her father who has specifically said HE DOES NOT WANT marijuana and is mentally able to decide that for himself.

    I can see both sides of the debate...but MY personal (non admin) take on it woud be..


    Importantt point to take note of in this thread is that GTWT hasnt came here to ask opinions on right or wrong way. Just for instructions on the best way. Its like me coming here saying "Im gonna do coke this weekend,whats best and safest way to do it". I dont want nor need the whole "its illegal" debate.Just good advice. Id suggest any advice to GTWT begins with "While i may not agree with the way your doing it. Here is the best and safest way to do it". Its an open forum,people want advice they can get it. I gotta say i wouldnt slip my Dad MJ without his knowledge but listen iv seen my Dad suffer in the past with a few things and believe me if i thought MJ woulda helped then i COULDA made that decision.Not out of LACK OF MORALS but out of SUPREME COMPASSION. I disagree that GTWT is doing this for selfish reasons,its quite obvious its a distress thing,she cant bear to see her Dad in pain and distress. Each to their own. This is more a discretion issue more than anything. Her Dad,her family,she knows the best way to deal with this and we do not. Appreciate all the legality comments and moral highground but lets be honest. All of us on GK have broken the law in some way,some more serious than others.


    GTWT it sounds like your Dad is like mine with the way he views MJ. My Dad dont mind me smoking it at all but he grew up being taught MJ is a drug and theres the whole stigma attatched to that so yeah on reflection.If My Dad was in supreme pain and he only listens to his doctor ( Theres no such thing as MMJ in the UK) then he aint never gonna know about the benefits of MMJ. Id make it for him GTWT,then let him try it and THEN explain "Thats MJ" and hopefully it helps. Id try be there though in case he maybe wonders why he feels all giggly and why the music is so loud:tvlaugh: (Thats MY opinion os a member,not as Admin) Its a free forum and im not gonna start dictating rules about things we can talk about based on a moral code. If a member wants advice no matter the legality then the forum is free to answer. Oh and lets not be calling MJ a "drug",makes it sound so dangerous:eek: Peace:bongin:

    A jehovah's witness walks into hospital having a heart attack. He registers at the desk with the nurse and states that he is a Jehovah and can not take any blood or foreign items in his body, just before he collapses on the floor unconscious.


    As with most heart attacks its found that his heart is fucked and he needs a new valve. A pigs valve would save his life and a blood transfusion during the op would be necessary. The doctor knows fine well about his wish, but really feels he knows better and wants to save his life.


    The Jehovah wakes up alive with a pigs valve in his chest and someone elses blood in his veins. Alive, but his entire lifes commitment to his religion has been fucked over by some self righteous doctor who thought he knew better.


    I know your intentions are good, but your dad said no!


    If it was me, id bake a batch of cookie, give them to your mam and let her talk to him in private with the cookies at hand. If they are there and your mam is asking him to do it i think there is a good chance he'll try it and no one is going to do anything behind his back. He may or may not take them, but at the end of the day it his choice and his trust in his family will not be damaged ;)

    She SHOULD explain to her father and try to convince him to try it, that is true.


    Asking advice on how to take a drug safely for yourself is COMPLETELY different than asking how to SLIP it to someone who DOES NOT want it and has explicitly said so AND is able to mentally make that decision for their self.


    It is selfish because you are 1. Not respecting the wishes of not only your parent, but an adult who is able to make their own medical decisions 2. To slip it to them without their knowledge because they are suffering, when they don't want it, is to make your self feel better because you want to see their suffering end to help your own. 3. It is not your right, obligation, or prerogative to decide for another person what they need medically, more so if you are not a doctor.


    Lets be honest, marijuana by definition is a drug. Is it the safest? Yes, but some people (VERY FEW) have an additive relationship to it, abuse it, and can not operate day to day in a normal fashion while on marijuana.

    And also just thinking how absolutely pissed off I would be if someone did this to me before I smoked. I would have been livid. But it has been explained pretty well, I don't have anything else to add at this point.

    Yeah skuzz thats more or less the way i would do it with my Dad. Every one is different though and GTWT knows her Dad more than we do. I thin the whole "morality" aspect of this thread has went on way too long though. Im sure GTWT has noted the morality opinions. Id do same,make cookies,bhang or whatever and then explain it to my Dad as im giving them to him.Just the fact he can see they look normal and shit will maybe dispell the whole "drug" thing from his head. But again people. GTWT didnt come here to ask if she was morally right ,she wants to know the safest way to do it as in doses and preperation.I suggest from here on in we try keep to offering advice on that instead of someones lack of morality or amount of self righteousness.:2c:

    If someone says "I want to kill this person".....then says "yea I was pissed, I got over it" what fucking law was broken?? Please for the heavens above explain this to me.


    To further the matter this site explains how to grow marijuana.....which is a felony almost everywhere....including legal states because it's still a federal crime.


    I think GTWT didn't come here for a moral lecture, just the best way to approach a subject.


    And lion didn't you say you would medicate your child??? Are you a doctor? Like I said but you are listening for what ever reason, morally and legally it's the same as a parent dosing a child. No one here is a doctor and frankly by your definition a parent giving a child Coca-Cola should be thrown in prison. Or any other "drug" (caffine is a drug!!!!)....or supplement for that matter. Or even a Tylenol, as once again a drug that most would argue is more dangerous than marijuana.


    GTWT, bake some cookies and tell him "i made these specially for you, they will help with your pain"....there everyone happy now? Dad would be put on notification.

    No thats fine man. Just dont want our members posting sincere questions and getting a thread full of morality lectures. I dare say GTWT has contemplated this for some time,not due to morals but more love. None of us now our stance on any given situation until we are in that situation....THEN we deal with it. Lets just advise GTWT on the best doses and preperation and let GTWT decide the best way forward. She has stated that she has already made up her mind so lets just advise best way forward.In my work today iv got a guy telling me he wants to inject drugs now cos smoking them doesnt work.Its not my job to say "ooooh injecting is fucked up man,you can get disease and overdose blah blah blah". Its my job to say "OK,your gonna do what your gonna do,but can i offer some safe methods of doing it?". THATS all GTWT wants and all we should be offering.


    Its fair enough people have offered their opinion but lets not beat the dead horse is all im saying. Im sure this is a big decision and stressful for GTWT and she dont need a forum all lecturing about morals. That is all.Lets keep this thread to replies concerning what GTWT asked for.Thanks people:bongin:

    To drug someone without consent would be a class B felony and is punishable by imprisonment up to 10 years. Are you asking if what she would do is illegal or if other people giving advice about how to do it is illegal? I am not sure about the latter but I would not put being complicit to the assault off the table. I really am just answering your question. Anyways, if that enough? I would like to exit this thread.

    My Dads got earache,he doesnt like the feeling of drops in his ear ... im GONNA make sure he gets those drops. The problem here is,all of a sudden MJ has reverted back to a "drug" all of a sudden? We KNOW what MJ is,this isnt someone thinking about slipping him some narcotic that can kill a person, its a herb with multiple health giving properties thats recognized at state and federal level now. Not our job to say good or bad. Just offer advice on best way to do it (doseage and method) and TRUST IN GTWT and her Mom to put their Dad and Husbands needs first:2c:


    Leave recipes and doseages but lets step back from the morality thing. GTWT loves her Dad more than any of you guys and im pretty sure she will make the right choice in the end:ebert:

I am no longer talking about what is right or wrong nor am I putting down GTWT. Do I think this is like giving someone some oxy without their permission? Again, was simply answering your question with the factual answer not based on anyone's opinion of MJ as a drug or how right or wrong it is to give to someone without their consent.     Also, strawman argument? What is that exactly? What is my argument or even my point? I am not trying to make a point or even putting forth any argument based on my opinion. You asked a question, I gave you the legal answer. It varies from state to state, if it helps the sentence I gave was for Washington. I can look up the federal law but it comes down to a state to state thing in the end and since I don't know what state this would be occurring in I gave an answer from a state that is somewhere in the middle of the spectrum.

    Breaking marijuana laws only affect the individual. Giving someone marijuana without their knowledge when they don't want it effects someone else. Two different issues when it comes to breaking the law.


    And you are simply accusing people because you don't like what is being said. Show me an argument FOR drugging an adult without their knowledge. There is no basis to do it.

    Im just gonna close this thread and if GTWT logs on and wants it open then i'll open her thread back up. Im thinking when she posted this she wanted some sincere advise on ingredients,recipes and quantities.NOT a lega and moral discourse. Otherwise this threads gonna escalate and catch fire. Sorry folks but might aswell nip this one in the bud. GTWT i hope your Dads situation resolves itself in some form or the other. As i said earlier,its ok to preach morals but until ANY of us are in a certain situation then NONE of us know exactly how we will act. Take it easy people:bongin:
