seriously it's fucking cold!!!!! never in my life have I been this cold, thankfully it's killing my travel plans so I can stay somewhat close to home
Tell me about it. Been so tied up with work... Haven't had a day off in 16 days and working 10hr+ a day and I haven't been watching the news or anything really. So my dumbass had no idea it was going to drop into the teens from the 60s. Soooo I didn't leave water dripping now got frozen pipes. So just got the damn faucets open about 1/4 way everywhere, a space heater on my water softener and praying everything will be ok when it thaws tomorrow. I've been able to trickle out probably most of everything over the day and turned off the main shut off valve.
The ice age is here!! Colder than a well diggers asshole out here but not as cold as you guys. Been outside since 8am doing maintance on place and working on bikes. Jesus I wish it was warmer. t6

I just walked out to my car to get something and totally slipped on the ice and busted my ass. Must have looked funny cuz I went sprawling. No damage :LOL: To hell with the cold. I'm ready to move to the Caribbean.
I have 15 bikes now. Most are in the garage. Others I move out of a 120 foot lean two to work on sunny days. t6

I'd trade with any of ya. Did a 4 hour shift outdoors last night at -20F (real, not wind chill). Got another one tonight. Folks still ride and ski around here no matter how cold it gets.
No way man! So the pipes burst? That fucking blows. I was scared shitless since yesterday morning when my whole house froze up. No water anywhere. Thank god I build this house so it's all brand new and used PEX tubing throughout the house. Only copper is on the exterior faucets and the fixtures under the sinks. Just opened up all the faucets slightly and let it bleed off pressure and what water it could, put a heater on the pipes for the softener and killed the water at the main shutoff. But everything is good, ended up keeping it all that way until today about an hour ago. Just bled off the pressure again, waited for it to stop then slowly turned the main on with the exterior faucet closest to the main slightly open let it all run for a bit to get the air out of the lines. Checked the meter with everything off and no flow so I'm beyond grateful.
I was thinking about running some PEX, for some reason i don't trust it. Guess cause it's newer to the market vs copper Fuck that royally Res.....I'm to skinny for this shit, cold is killing me. We get winter, but this shit is absurd. When you start your car and let it run for 20 minutes and your shit is still frozen, it makes for a bad day. Thank an engineer for remote starters :roffl:
I feel for you all, last night was the coldest it's been here in over a year, it was 32 deg's. That's like -50 below where I live....
