Been awhile and took a GK break, but, once a grower always a grower so giving things another start.

    Had a soul wrenching rip awhile back (along with a couple other life dramas) that left me wondering whether cannabis in a nonlegal State is worth it anymore. The feeling when you walk up to your grow and the door looks like this is indescribable;

But like I've said elsewhere....growing is like breathing....so decided to start a search for property in a friendly State and just keep on doing my thing. With no plants, no gear, no place to grow it seems only proper to start with a clean slate and keep mobility the key priority. An old camper in the barn is just the ticket for my plan.

We're starting with this. Beat-up and grimy but roadworthy and sound. The old camper is going to be the next build so when it's time to roll to greener pastures, the garden can roll out with me.

In the next two weeks it'll be gutted, outfitted with 3-600w HPS vert lamps in a flower area and 8-12 T5 HO four foot flouros in a veg/mom/clone room. 3-20 amp circuits should carry the load while leaving room for ventilation load. Thinking the shitter, the fridge, and LP heater will stay. Around June I'll be adding CO2 bottles and AC for summer months.

The thread will be updated as the build out progresses.:bong-2:

Not safe at all if you're rolling through the countryside with a camper full of plants.:car8:

On the other hand, as safe as any other locked door if it's in a shed/garage/barn , or, parked next to your back door in a friendly State. A goofball looking to rip off a home and stumbling into your grow can happen just as easily through your front door as it can a locked garage. The idea is to build something to support a 60 plant count while being able to relocate without a total tear down. Not to build Fort Knox of grow rooms.

Would I prefer a solid basement grow space? Yup. Had that and look what it got me. Besides, oddball shit intrigues me.

I guess your running out of options huh? :roffl:

Im def. into oddball ideas too, of course you did the fridge and now a camper..

How bout buying a metal shipping container and burying it??? I looked into it and for about a $3k investment in all, it can be done for the purchase, dig placement and underground utilities, use your imagination on the rest and its mega stealth..:passsit:

How r u going to insulate that thing?

and how r u going to get and hide elec to a barn in the cut??

It's already insulated. Power is as easy as finding or running a 100 amp box with an open circuit. In barns or work sheds 100 amp mains are pretty much the norm up here. If there isn't one, it's pretty easy to run a 50 sub panel nearby from a nearby power source..

Thought about the shipping container and if I had a spot it'd be awesome. But again....we're only talking about a 60 plant count and something like that would be way overkill.

I bet the old man down the road has a setup going in his.....theres 2 heavy extention cords going to it and it looks like it hasn't moved in 40years and he has a nice big house he lives in....hmmmmmmm

I'd like to hear more about the burglary/rip. That is some fucked up shit.

    Any idea who did it?

My apt. was broken into once and all my shit stolen. That fucked me up quite a bit, mentally and emotionally.

What friendly state you thinking about?

    :passsit:

It fucked me up good Hank. Lost everything. And yeah, without going into detail....karma found the cat pretty quick and personal. He wasn't even looking for weed. Just stumbled on it doing a burglary.

Had been thinking Colo but watching that market flood with start ups has made a couple of the more liberal MMJ states more likely. Upper Peninsula MI looks good. Property is cheap, caregiver licensing is easy and the state government is still reforming it's dispensary laws so there's still room left for a small timer to make a tidy profit as a supplier if they set up correctly. The Yoopers are very open to the industry since it's such a depressed local economy.

And still close to home. Nice.

I'd love to live in the U.P. I'd be right there with ya if I didn't have this ball and chain attached to me.

There is a company that makes grow trailors. A friend of mine showed me the link not to long ago. Cool idea for a legal state.

Just got back from a board trip so progress was left in favor of spring corn. Here's how it looks today. Found some mold in the structure so am replacing a few framing components rather than risk mold entering a garden. In about a week it should be something completely different.

PD, gonna be taking your advice about the windows.

Well I'm just getting to this thread. I think the camper in a barn is a cool idea. If someones looking to rip somebody off and they enter the barn, a dingy old camper would be the last place to look for something to steal.
