Just put up a lemon Thai and dabney blue run under the LEDs

They defiantly begged faster under led - I normally go three weeks and these were ready to go in just over two weeks

The blue choco was fluffy at ten weeks - I might sample early and see if they are any denser. They are at 6 weeks now and really chunky - they seem ahead of the same point under hps - I will dig back thru my photos and see if I can find pics to compare - hps vrs led

Its not that I am seeing massive changes with LED - actually the only real change I see is veg cycle seems about 1/3 faster. Flower cycle looks to be just about the same I saw for HPS which is fine by me!!!!

It looks like I did no harm moving to LED - which is what I wanted.

One week till harvestWell - my first FULL cycle LED grow is one week from harvest!!!My Blue Chocolate is looking and smelling awesome. Bud size, structure, smell, feel all look identical to the last time I ran Blue Chocolate under HPS. The yield numbers will be interesting but just from looking I see no diff. The taste on some 8 week (early) cuts is nice and smooth)Current growBlue Chocolate - 9 weeksJackberryKO - 5 weeksLT/DB - 2 weeksJackberryKO - 2 weeks veg

So what did you think about the density of the samples? I'm as anxious as you see what you get. Looking nice though man.

I really see no difference at all - I have run all of these strains multiple times under hps....

Should have some yield numbers to compare in a week and a half

    sooo...

I see all these LED grows going on. So you're telling me I can grow a pound and a half of herb under lights that produce little heat...enough so that a full fledge exaust system is not needed. Humor me for a minute gentleman. I just yielded like...1.75 pounds under my two 600W LED lights. What wattage LED would be identicle/comparable to this set-up. I am tired of having four fans and not being able to grow in the dead of summer unless i spend an arm and a leg on a window AC unit( and my house stays at 70 degrees anyway from a badass cooling system) which still does not completely fix things...makes it sketchier..and screams inefficiency.

What LED's would I need to make this happen. I'll spend the money. I'll be one of the guinny pigs. I love cutting edge shit.

Loved the grow. Looks great my man. Enlightening me. Out with the old in with the new

To replace 2-600hps I'd use either 4- onyx blooms 4- area 51 rw 150s. Dxe is happy with the onyx and same for me with the area 51 lights.

    Ok here is the deal...

LED fixtures generate heat - just not as much. There is usually small computer fan blowing on the electronics heat sink in the light fixture. You will still have to deal with exhausting that heat.

In my new grow room, I have two sections for 8 plants. I would have had to run 4 1000 watt hps (more likely 1k) to cover this space along with the associated cooling - most likely 2 800cfm fans and filters.

I decided to go LED in this space. To get the footprint I wanted and the light levels equiv to 4 1000 watt HPS fixtures, I went with 8 ONYX Bloom units (paid much less than 400 per unit). These units are rated at 240Watt draw each so I am drawing a total of approx 2k watts of juice.

For cooling I have a SINGLE 440cfm Vortek fan with 2 air inlets in the room. My ambient in the cellar is around 70F and I maintain 80F in the grow with no problems or no additional heat or cooling.

My other grow space (my original space) had a 1Kw HPS and 440 CFM fan/phresh scrubber combo. I replaced the light with 3 ONYX Boom units (i run 6 plants in this space but have room for 8.

Again - for reference - in my Veg space I am running 3 ONYX Veg units - not so much for the light level but for the footprint - I am currently vegging 16 girls in there now. I replaced a single 1000 watt MH with 2 of the ONYX units (440 watt total draw) and that was fine. I expanded to a third only to expand my footprint. This space is cooled by a single 440CFM Vortek fan and a phresh scrubber. If footprint is not an issue - 2 units were plenty - I generally vegged 8 pots under two units with no issue at all.

Soooooo I am cooling the entire operation with three 440 cfm Vortek fans (three rooms) with no issue at all.

To your question - you can easily replace 2 600 watt HPS with 3 ONYX Bloom units. You will most likely find you want a fourth only because the 600 watt HPS prolly had a larger footprint than a single ONYX unit.

Hope this all helps.. When you shop - call the various manufacturers - find one that will work with you on price - I know for a fact if you mention GK (or me) to ONYX they will cut you a good price (ask for Mike)...

Between the heat/cooling issues and the savings in your electric bill - it was a no brainer for me

just wanted to add a picture (not a great one - my security cam view) so you can get an idea of what I am covering with the LED spread.....

Harvest DayWell - I pulled the Blue Chocolate today - this was my first full-term LED grow of a strain I had previously grown under HPS. Buds are huge as usual, density and smell same as under HPS. I will guestimate I am north of 3 zips per lady which is the same area I was under HPS.Check the photo of a typical bud...So here is the lineup now:Veg: 8 Cotton CandyFlower 1: JackberryKO - 6 full weeksFlower 2: JackberryKO - just flippedFlower 3: Dabney Blue and Lemon Thai - 3 full weeks
