What do you love and why? (I know this has been brought up a million times, but I'll bet there is some new strains people will be talking about.)

Mine's old...:coolbounce:I will stick with my Brothers Grimm C99 but have to say the Dabney Blueberry comes in close second. Both because of the fruity taste, uplifting high, and the ease of growing, both fast veg and flower.

Bambata, wish I still had it. A 9 week Nigerian sativa from TikiSeeds that was in my garden 6 or 7(?) years ago. Peppery, spicy menthol. Smooth. Head crusher trippy stone. Possibly the most consistently potent weed I've ever had.

Tikiseeds is no more. Can't find Kerala (the breeder) so a lost strain.

Sannie's Killing Fields green pheno, with indica-looking leaves and sativa structure. Tasty, in an exotic fruity/floral sorta way. Kind of a guava-ish taste, maybe. Smooth going down, with a long lasting, no ceiling happy sativa effect. It's also low odor, both in growing and toking. It's not the most potent I've ever had, but it's pretty decent. Let's says it's the most enjoyable stuff I've had in a few years.

Most potent ever for me was some Hawaiian stuff 30 years back. It was the kind of herb that would make me forget to breathe.

Always meant to try it. Was another Kerala creation. Somebody still peddling that one?

Here's another one of Tikiseeds I miss. Shanti Devi from around 2009. Afghan lineage. Way skunky with rotten fruit. Hashy hit. Total couchlock. Frosty as fuck. Tight hard buds.

Im still a huge fan of OG Kush. I know a true OG is supposedly only available in clone form. Ive found Reserva Privada has an excellent offering.

I love the earthy sweet taste followed by the calming effect.

Skunk that a friend got me in the Bay Area in 1982. To this day, one of the best highs I ever hit. Open that bag up and the whole damn house would be reeking of it.

Not being rude or anything but all you folks who are chasing that old flame...you wouldn't wipe your butt with that stuff now a days, Thai stick or Acapulco gold or mowie wowie or whatever skunk yinz all remember is lawn clippings compared to what is available these days....A joint of todays gorilla glue back in the 80s would send people to ER today...I remember my "best smoke ever" and it was nowhere near what I got today and that was only 15 years ago in Miami but back then it was supposed to be the most insane thing ever broooo:roffl:

Its space weed these days with some strains over 24% thc. Funny how 30 years ago you could get home grown with hardly any seeds and everyone called it sensi bud, like the old High Time issues that today looks like hay in a bag. The C99 may not be the best but def one of my fav's and has made good come back with alot of demand from growers to bring it back. Its a cinderella story :thumbs-up:

My shit today would crush anything I toked in the 70's/80's. Thai stick, Maui, 'Lumbo gold. It ain't even close.

The shit we grow today here at GK flat out blows away what 80% of the masses are toking on today, never mind weed 25-30 yrs ago.

Its hard seed shopping these days, with all the strains avail, you can get almost anything. Which reminds me, I do have a couple pre (historic) 98 bubba kush to grow. Just like the Jan and Dean song where they sing "its a oldie but goodie" :roffl:

When I think back to about 1971, the thing that stands out the most is the inconsistency of the herb. You pretty much took what "the dude" had, because it was all there was. The average $10 lid was full of seeds, looked brown, and didn't taste that good. But every now and then, something better came along. Jamaican, Hawaiian, Thai, Colombian... All very nice, at the time.

The big difference between then and now is the consistency of the potency. Nowadays, it's all pretty potent. That and strain names. Pot back then was named for the foreign land where it came from.

I'll never forget the first time I saw bright green weed. I thought there was something wrong with it, as it didn't have any seeds, looked funny and smelled like a skunk. Smoking it cleared up my confusion.

I ran that pineapple express years ago, supposedly a C99 from what iwas told, it was like 8 years ago tho, who knows....but it was for sure some amazing smoke and a great plant...it was just too tall and branchy for my setup at the time. now is a different story

Useless was in on Lush wasn't he? Have a recollection of some testers that he never got to spreading around.

Best tasting weed I ever toked was in the 70's tho. Jamaica Blue Mountain weed was what the local told me. A few years later in Christiansted, St Croix I scored some local that had the exact same signature. Like toking black peppercorns.
