Depends on what kind they are but i believe neem oil takes care of most or all types of mites...

Lower your garden temperatures to slow them down.
Below 70 degrees at all times will do it.

take 'em right in the shower, tip 'em up on the side, and shower the them down good. Make sure you get the underside of the leaves good. Wash 'em down, they should take it. "Then" go with IIIndi's advice, lowering temps. Increased humidity helps too, a fan blowing on 'em helps. Mites don't do well in the wind [IMG]:

    Thanks for the replys

My garden stays around 65-75F. I am going to try the fan, and the washing to see if that will help! Thanks for all the information, it is much appreciated!

    Peace out!!

I'm telling you, 5 degrees cooler will make all the difference in the world with those damn buggers. Ideal temperature would be a constant 60 degrees. That would stop them dead in their tracks, and your plants would simply slow their growth. No ill effects on the MJ, but deadly for spider mites. The eggs won't hatch, and following Hicountry2's advice would in tandem obliterate your pest problems.
After a couple weeks of low temperatures and you can return your garden to its warmer conditions and get your plants back on track. Keep the area humid as well, and rub the infected leaves with rubber gloves on. You can physically remove most of the eggs, and using a 10x loupe would help you see the tiny white spots under the leaves.
If you don't want to spend money on treatments, or fear tainting your bud, it is going to take some time. It can be done. Marijuana growers have been fighting mites for a long time. Good luck!

    Hello all,

Indigo, i'll drop my temp to that right now! 60 degree.

I have noticed the ladybugs coming back so i think i am gonna let them take care of the eggs on the leaves for me and i'll just use the low temps. If all the eggs don't hatch then the bugs would have time to eat them all in around 2 weeks wouldnt they? I am not for sure, but thanks for all the help, everyone!

    Peace out!!

I use the triple-threat spider mite predators from Natures Control. 500 for around $30. All natural, always works, it just never completely wipes them out. Usually buy more every other crop.
Last couple of years in the midwest we've been over run with a smelly, biting beatle that looks like a ladybug but more orange/ more spots. Some kinda japanese beatle? Not sure yet how they'll work. They swarm you & your house in the fall trying to stay warm. Little bitches bite though!

Sticki -- those orange ladybugs aren't the Japanese beetles everyone talks about. Those are black and totally different. These orange ladybugs do come from Asia, and they do bit (just like red ladybugs) but they also eat the same things as red ladybuds, which means that they will feed on aphids and other little critters until the food supply runs out. then they'll eat nectar, which is why you'll see them chillen on the leaves sometimes, but I've never seen them eat the leaves themselves. They are just sucking on a little surface plant juice until they can find an aphid or mite or whatever to feed on.

I have 5 or 6 that float between my six plants, and they don't do any harm. If there were like 20 or 30, I would probably massacre them down to a small population so they wouldn't be competing to eat the bugs.

bottom line, the orange bugs eat other bugs, just like red ladybugs. but they piss people off cause they're more of them now that there are red ladybugs.

hope that gives you a warm fuzzy feeling
