:hello: G-Kinders, as i said in my intro thread i have a wealth of cultivators in my 'circle' in real life but usually just got stoned with them but after a while ya start 2 learn little things here and there so i decided to venture in2 the cultivation world of Ganja.I have looked after ganja plants 4 my frciends/cultivators in the past and no accidents, lol, but i decided i wanted 2 try my hand at cultivating myself. I was given a strong potent high yielding strain which was a clone taken from a mother plant which grew from a feminised seed(Northern Pride=$135.00 which guarentees 99%females from HighQuality Seeds) but i think i have turned it in2 a hermy, either that or it is just a male as my cultivator budz insist! I am getting the p*** ripped out of me for being the only person my cultivator budz have ever met who can actually take a feminised clone from a great 99%female strain and turn it male/hermie.Soooo i was wondering if i could get a little confirmation on what exactly i have growing. All i want 2 know is seeing the motherplant was grown from a feminised seed and the clone was obviously a female,so what i want 2 no is if it is a hermie then will the seeds be more likely to be more female orientated seeing the motherplant was from feminised seeds Remember friendly G-Kinders,this is my 1st grow on my own and i only have access to floro lighting till one of my 'circle' is in between grows which is when i get a shot at borrowing their HPS lights but i do use great nutrients and soil from a reliable ganja place aswell as mylar which was already round the apartment.I have done a few failed grows b4 so im pretty gutted that iv ruined this one by turning it from a lady into a guy or a tranny as i call them. Should i continue growing for seeds and shitty bud or should i get rid? Is it a hermy as i think it is as it has a top cola with budlike sites but my cultivator budz say its a straight male?I wouldnt no as i have only ever seen ganja plants in full flowering therefore females.?Thanx :icon_flower:Cybele:icon_flower:
you should IMHO, Start over with a new clone, or a good seed. Buy your own HPS light....and then your problems will be solved
sorta fuzzy pics... I couldn't see any hairs either but I'd not say so for sure given pic quality. Not trying to give you a hard time. I am just finishing my first grow which was from bag seed and I got 4 hermies out of 4. I don't think it's always this way but my plants seem to be mostly female with some male flowers. Yes they are all seeded, some more than others. I read somewhere that hermies are either genetic or stress induced. That is, you can stress a pure female into producing male flowers or you can just straight up have hermies from seed (if the seed came from a hermie). Sometimes they are male plants with female flowers and sometimes the inverse. As far as the seeds go, I'm pretty sure that they will be hermies as well, certainly "prone" if not outright. I chopped one of my plants a couple of days ago and removed all of the mature seeds that were easily accessible w/out ripping up the buds and I now have 274 mature seeds. I cut the next plant today, only a few mature seeds. So as is always the answer, it varies. Since this is/was my first grow and I was dealing with hermies, I did have some trouble determining sex. I decided at least a half dozen time that I had at least one or two males because they showed male flowers before pistils. I even moved one plant out of the grow room and put it in the brightest room in my house for 10 days because I was "sure" that it was a male. I was waiting for the "clusters" that I'd seen in pics of male plants before removing completely because it was my first time. Then the hairs showed up. That plant is now the last to finish and quite possibly the biggest yielding plant of the four. My advice is not to act too hastily, especially if you don't have a room full of female plants at risk. I obviously decided to grow out my hermies and get some exp. Not to mention a couple of oz or so of bud, even if it is seeded. Might not be so worth it if you have a male with a few female flowers. Never used Fem. seeds but I hear that they are most likely prone to go tranny. I don't know what your relationship is with this "circle" but have you considered that they may have played a joke on you? Seems like you shouldn't need to ask us if you have multiple growers as friends...just sayin... As I understand it, there shouldn't be a way to take a clone from a female plant and turn it into a male. No matter how much you screw up. Having a clone go hermie from a mother with the hermie trait? Seems like that could happen even if you weren't screwing up. Also, the source of the clone should be able to tell you if they have ever had one go hermie...might help you figure out what's up but if you bought it, they may not want to own up. One last thing. DutchMasters Reverse. We have one member who did an inconclusive experiment with it but I'd read the thead by AlienBait if you haven't, and I'd love know what your results are if you use it. In theory, you could use known hermie seeds for an all female crop. Hopping someone else chimes in... Don't feel badly, just learn! Good Growing!
Well like everyone said look like a male plant not a hermie .Your freinds might have played a joke on you. I have had alot of hermies one winter because of a light leak from a heater and some from stress and it usually happens after about 4 weeks of flowering. But I have never seen a female clone turn all male with no female hairs. Good luck in your future grows Bud.
Yes unfortunately:5headache: it looks to be a male... You need to start over.. When you have the next one in 12/12 you need to make sure there are no light leaks at all during the light cycle... Some strains are more pron to going Hermie than others..This plant looks all male to me though.. Good luck on the next one! By the way, Love your avatar!!!
Thank you for not giving me the noob treatment, haha, survived my 1st question! :hello:Thanx 4 all ur advice G-Kinders,i suppose my cultivator budz were right, the only reason i thought it hermy was because it had a top cola and other little bud sites and i noticed pistilate which confused me but that could have been before it turned hermy? I shall take all your advice, there is more Northern Pride where that came from plus i have access to other strains but i want to grow a ganja plant that my circle of friends aint flowered apart from the guy who gives me the clones. Its a reliable strain with 99% female ratio so wish me luck for next time,at least i have gained more practical experiece? :icon_flower: Cybele :icon_flower:
