I was planning on growing six (6) fems in buckets this year due to limited space...I know about drainage etc. I was wondering besides the FF ocean/seaside brand potting soil what else do you as experienced outdoor growers recommend I add to the soil such as worm castings etc, etc? Thanx to all GK help you have given in the past...The more recomendations the better my chances of some pretty gals about Sept. or Oct. :bong2: :bong2:
I wouldn't worried about the soil content as much as the irrigation to all 6 plants. In buckets, they tend to dry up a lot faster.. Why can't you plant in the earth? Are you going to visit these every day to water. Don't get me wrong having a good soil mix is as important as water.
The FF is pretty complete as is. I'm sure there are some amendments that can be made like adding perlite or a dolomitic lime buffer to give you a little ph leeway in your water but it should do well straight out of the bag. cheers,
Ill show you what a 5 gallon bucket can do with ocean forrest with no additional nutrients?... I have a 4 week old kandy kush plant in one...Up to my chest... Ill get a pick of it tonight when I power up
5 gal. bucket... Thanx Kush...I look fwd to seeing them. There are a few ideas I would like to run past you and see what ya think. ~~ BACK TO WORK ~~ The Puppy
All i grow in is MGOC and I use composed cow shit, Mushroom compost and topsoil with some perlite for drainage.Same shit lowes has carried for years. If i could afford worm shit Id grow only in that. Also you can add worms to your buckets as i was reading and they will stay in the buckets. Now wartering is a snap,or is for me.....i dig a hole almost as deep as the bucket and set them in the ground.....water will wick up from the ground into your buckets as long as you dont have a long dry spell. It also hides them because i mulch around them with natural stuff laying around Buckets are smart and IMO this is why---cut worms---Those mutherfuckes can chop a tree down just about. I dont like pesticides rather just plant a few extra for the bugs and the deer. Also around here fire ants are a BIG problem. They seem to like fresh tilled earth and if they set up shop in your garden its over for the plants. And they will ruin your dayassit:
With buckets you have more control of the plants, how much water, nutes, and ya can move them. Now with that control you have to be there more. So more maintenance. /monthly_2008_02/DSC00318.jpg.c7e0326a1f90639aeb6f6a5ec8eb816a.jpg /monthly_2008_02/DSC00311.jpg.ba4e5cbd00eb82ee0cd1503530de9992.jpg /monthly_2008_02/DSC00289.jpg.0cb24df12bb0718344ac13043cbbb199.jpg
