ok guy's i am flowering,, is a 70wat hps good enough for 1 plant in a closet to produce big buds , or should i add a couple 4 foot flos along with it for my 12 hours of light ?
Don't know if it will produce big buds, but yes it's good for one plant....added flos can never hurt either.
Flos can't hurt one bit . If you haven't got them yet , select the Kitchen and Bath tubes . You want a "warm" spectrum tube for flowering . They cost a little extra , maybe $5US a tube but are worth the expense . Lighting spectrums are listed on the packaging , in degrees Kelvin . Abreviated : K` . You should look for a tube that has a lower K` . And a high Lumen output . If you are going to the trouble to add the extra flos then at least get new tubes , if you have an older fixture . There is a drop in output over the life of a lamp and your eyes can't percieve it , NEW TUBES evey 7500 hours . Hope that helps , Strato . Save your nickles and dimes General , you are gonna want to move up the wattage ladder someday soon .
Strato you are right and i am saving.. But until i get what i really need your advice as always helps me thru.... thanks a million ....
a 70w hps can grow nugs in a small space. i would suggest flowering in 1 square foot of space, and using a scrog. heres a link to a guy named green dragon that grows in the 1 sq ft w/ a 70w hps (Edited" target="_blank">http://www.overgrow.com/edge....(Edited by smotpoker at 9:54 am on Dec. 5, 2004)
all good advice m8 try using the flouros for side lighting to bring on the lower buds, aim for lots of decent buds rather than one big main cola you'll get more yield
