I am now 8 sodding weeks flowering my girls. The Green Spirit was cropped at 6 weeks, under the canopy and only an oz between two . However it has black hairs and is quite a smoke, for the spirit! The widow has some darkened hairs, not many. Frosty as a glass left out in a - frost! The haze, well, it is a vine type plant, keeps growing and budding, from initial brownish hairs 3 weeks ago, she just keeps sprouting, she took the light from the stumpy Spirits! Looking at about 3-4 with her The Critical Mass, never have I seen such a plant, fat, succulent, just looks plain tasty. Now she looks wet with clear trics, buds are about 2 inches round and browning, slowley. Many leaves are yellow, some lost, fed on water for 2 weeks now! But she keeps leaning further, supercropped and abused the damn stems are still bending over. My experiment with night day times, 11/11 is ok. 10/10 is too little. Darkness during flowering is more important than light, eg, at least keep minimum 11 hours dark. Reduceing the light on time will speed flowering. Plants do not produce one set of flowers, rather they flower as long as the season and conditions allow. My experience with Critical Mass, don't drive across the Pennines mashed, during a windy storm in a little car, lateish at night. Quite a few little trips during one long one!! Scary, in a sort of, how stupid kind of way. But if I'm gonna go, then that's the state I want to be in when it comes! Big hey up the Welsh Mass, and rockwool and Canna and Newton ( for his brave thinking ). And of course to the clone giver (s). Big fun happening, hope herbys here by then. Streaker
glad things have gone so well for u mr uk wouldn,t mind sampling a bit of that real fine herb you got there, suppose i can allways wish dude, i like the fact you had the bollocks to experiment with different lighting shedules RESPECT dude, fukin knows the score smokes da draw rubs my bollocks along the m4 safeness clartsky, KNOWS IT SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaa
Hey Streaker, good going. Where did ya here about 11/11? Is it something you figured you'd try on your own? What percent (how many days) do you figure you chop off flowering with this schedule. Sounds like something I'd give a shot if it worked.
just playing 420guy! i have always dropped the lights down to 8 on 12 off, after 6 weeks flowering. This time i tried to take off the night cycle too, but I think it increased the actual time taken this time! So I'd stick to 11 hours minimum night time, and just decrease the day time from 11, to 10 to 9 to 8 to 7, after 3-4 weeks. Average say save 4 hours a day, every 5 lots of 24 hours you get 6 cycles. 15+ % saved, so that could mean 12 days in 80. How much the yield WILL drop, I can't say. Have mass, will travel!!
Streak...I am looking forward to getting my ass on over there. I can see now I am gonna have to be schooled in hydro grows. Seems that is the way to do it across the pond. Someday buddy...you, myself, Misti, Northie, and Smokey are gonna have to have a session. I would be greatly honored to sample buds from you all. Just have to get my own together when I get there so you can try mine.
Streaker? Did you find that your yield was diminished at all? I hear that shortening the cycles can cause this to happen...
This time, probably not, but given exp. yes it does, depend how you set your stall out, fill the room with smaller stems or few big fat ones. Or try to comprimise. Noise and ventallation can be a limiting factor. Buds cannot touch either. Still nothing can compare to a well ripened bud, left for 12 weeks and golden brown. steaker
Dried nicely over 2 weeks in my loft space, cool and dark. Yielded between 38 grams and 108 grams per plant, no problems with mould, just nicely browned sticky big buds. A lovely smoke. A rambling super silver haze gave 3 oz, and a widow is still in, weeks later! I would guess the yeild is a little smaller than could have been, but about right for my space and conditions, and a nice smoke.
