I'm looking at either a 12k btu or a 10k btu window a/c. Running 2k open hoods in flower and 400w open in veg. My question is are the extra 2k btus needed? I'm in the deep south, so it gets hot during the summer.
I am not sure what the calculation numbers are, In the FAQ there is a thread on that, but it prob wont hurt, then you might have extra cooling to add another light down the road also. with the window units you can control the temp with the control knobs also. (Hi cool/low cool...temp cooler/temp warmer) We know how the heat down here sucks. Oh do I know, putting in a $6,000 3 1/2 ton 16 sear with humidity control this week. I would rather be a little too cold then too hot.
Most portables have room size on them along with a secondary btu scale for warm areas like kitchens....use the warm areas. You cant really go wrong with the bigger unit. Ita better than spending money and finding out as runs all day just to keep you the 80s
