Helloo everyone, I am a first time aeroponic grower. I have the Aquamist II system and it seems pretty damn cool. First, when I want to germinate the seeds in rockwool, how can I transplant them into the grow trays with the hydroponic rocks without killing the roots? Next, the system has 8 grow containers that are each 3" in diameter. Is this sufficient space to grow a good sized plant? Next, does anyone have any suggestions about odor killers? I have grown with soil outdoors before and am completely new to the indoor hydro operation. Any advide is much appreciated and I hope to soon post pics of my progress.... Thanks everyone
#Moderation Mode Well first, you don't transplant out of rockwool, you simply put the rockwool a couple inches in the rocks. Some say that you can put it on top also.Smaell can be a problem with some strains.I've grown strains that didn't need any odor conrol and on the other hand this grow is one that will get you busted without odor control. What starin do you have in mind? Highbksballer, One thing I've struggled with is the odor of living plants, and the smells of mj smoking. My final results are like this: I keep a small mouthed bottle of regular vinegar just inside the grow room door, and have potted herbs growing on windowsills, and by the front door. Rosemary and oregano are nice pungent shrubs, I pluck some before I leave or expect company at the house, chew on a bit, bruise some leaves between my hands, and stuff the remains into my watchpocket. Since I use vinegar as a general disinfectant and cleaning agent, and I use the herbs for cooking... I once used a voc filter, but it was noisey, and expensive. I have heard of some sprays and jellied airfresheners which actually neutralize odors, but they seemed awfully pricey, and my budget is still slim, though not quite the old frayed shoestring of yore. Some of the grobros build an ion fountain, which is said to have benificial growth side effects. I believe there are some ion fountains on the market, but they seem outrageously overpriced. Anyway, that's the eg's $0.02 worth on the subject of odor control...
