If I'm growing lots of clones, and vegging no more than 1-2 weeks ,are 1 gal pots sufficent?

I would just to get that risk out of the way. Then again they are just clones vegging for two weeks so they should be fine. I heard you want about I gallon for each foot of the plants height.

It depends what your trying for a lot of short plants or if you want just a couple bigger plants I'd go with 3 gal. pots-Bud

Assuming you clones are pretty short to start with, with small root balls, I think 1 gal is more than enough. It's weird. Last couple grows were WW and evidently WW has a smallish root ball. I had a VERY successful Hempy grow in one gal plastic pitchers, like you'd put ice tea in. Now my third grow is AK47 and it has much bigger root ball. Go figure.Problem is, the wider yer pot, the fewer pots can fit under yer light, right?

So, ya gotta decide early on whther you want lots of plants in smaller containers or fewer plants in bigger ones. So far, having only grown WW the first two times, I preferred lots of plants in tall, narrow containers, which worked GREAT with the WW. But this grow of the AK is kinda sucky in those same containers, due to the bigger root system I guess (or maybe AK is just a mmore finiky strain).

Anyhoo, my new Juicy Fruit seeds just arrived and Im planning on putting them in one gals.

here is a simple answer, the bigger the root mass the bigger the buds period!

I started three of the same beans (probably not same pheno...but nonetheless similar...)

I germed one in a solo cup, the other in a one gallon pot, and the other in a 5 gallon pot. The one in the 5 gallon pot BLEW away the competition...

I swear it;s because that tap root just goes and goes and goes for awhile until it hits bottom...more roots = bigger plant most of the time...I believe anyways

Oh yeah they were exponentially smaller. The one in the solo cup after the first three weeks was SO MUCH SMALLER than the others...more than twice...they still had almost matching sets of leavs, They just kept getting more petite. And the one in the one gallon bag was significantly smaller than the one in the 5 gallon bucket...

Give them the MOST space possible

I'd go with 3 gallon bags..you obviously do not want go bigger than that...or do you? :passit:

Depends on how much room you have and how big you want the plants to be.

This was clone grown in a 2-liter soda bottle:

And this was grown in a 5 gallon bucket:

    Thanks.

The small one was done in an ebb and flow with 50/50, perlite/vermiculite and the larger one was done in a home made WaterFarm type system using Lava rocks as the medium. I prefer Hydro. Hmmm... Actually, I think I just like building the systems... LOL

I used the same nutes and lights for both. The point of showing the pictures is to demonstrate the difference the size of the pot can make. You can grow in any size container, but your yeild will be proportional to the pot size.

Here is a medicine bottle grow.
