Anybody ever use a big cardboard box for their veg/mum room? Do you think the cardboard will absorb the humidity?

Yes I have used a cardboard box for a veg box.

If you have enough light to do the job and adequate ventilation to control heat and provide the plants with the fresh air they need...humidity won't be an issue, at least as far as internal sources are concerned. If it's on a damp floor in the basement...:qbluewacko:

I used an 85w CFL and 2 scavenged 80mm PC fans, it didn't work well on the first round. I learned that better PC fans would have been a good idea (Good ones are out there but just because you have one lying around doesn't mean it's up to the job) and that placing a fan inside the box for circulation made a night and day difference.

Do some research on cab ventilation, do the math and you should be able to make it work well.

    Good Growing!

Same here. When all my stuff was in a closet, on the upper shelf, I had a well built box with a floru fixture in it, where I did my cuts.

I never tried to veg, but like 'grat said, it sure could be done, with some work. It goes without saying, if your going to veg in it, you may well want one bigger than mine. It was, oh, about 4' long 4' high kinda' deal.
