Was wondering if any of you knew about putting a chiller in the hydro res. to bring water temps down where nutes and oxygen worked more to an advantage? Would like to keep temps down in order to keep oxygen levels up...would appreciate any comments...thank you.
HowdeyHog... I just had a thot(It happens!). What if you used one of those electic cooler/warmer dodads for a reservoir? Heat was the biggest bane when I went through my hydro phase. It made nasty stuff grow in the water. It turned my attempts with organics into gastly, smelly, mad-scientist projects. I tried all kind of tricks to keep it cool, some of them could even have been valid if I had been working with an expense account instead of a motheaten shoestring. Maybe I'll go hydro again if I can grow where I won't have to haul the water up a flight of steps. Good luck the earth girl
what is your water temps reading?, too cold isnt good either 60-70 degrees is about perfect . in the past i have had DWC system with a separate RES outside of the grow room and i had a pump circulating the water between the too, since the res outside of grow room was not under light it stayed pretty cool, so circulating it thru the other res in teh room every couple of hours help keep my res temp down and the moving water helps prevent bacteria from forming as in stagnant water. it was pretty successfull if i remember i think i had a 400 hps with it. (PS every couple of days i would remove and had some water to the outside RES ) i had well water where i lived it was pretty nice.
I have a 30 gal DWC...no separate rezzy... frozen bottles work fine for me. "mandatory sentence fragment" (Edited by arcticbongs at 4:33 pm on Feb. 28, 2004)
